Clone vs Name Brand Golf Clubs

I read most of the golf threads posted on here, but I have never seen this discussion come up. Are most of you opposed to using clones? Is the performance significantly better in Name brand clubs?
I play with a set of clones( my first set), I have been pleased with them. They don't look as pretty, or sound as sharp, but when I swing the club correctly the ball goes far and they are pretty accurate.

In general, they aren't as well made
Sure if you hit them right, they'll go, but the Sweet spot is probably much smaller and the overall quality of construction is just not as good

Wouldn't that help you to have a better swing?
I've only been playing golf for 3 yrs. Excuse me if that's a stupid question.

yes, but so would playing with a set of quality blades.
you can get away with playing clones in irons moreso than woods. it also depends on wether you are playing true knock-offs of real brands or just a cheaper made brand not trying to pass itself off as a real brand.

For ex I purchased my set from pinemeadow.com, that's the name on my clubs. Do you consider them knock offs or just a cheaper brand?

Grooves are different
Center of Gravity is different
The club head is made from different metals(cheaper)
There is no sweet spot for the most part
Clubs is shorter in distance

cheaper brand.
Is there a reason you bought those vs. spending the same amount on a used set of name brands from ebay?

500%. If you are out there to just hit balls and enjoy golf, clones would be fine. If you care a single ounce about your performance, then yes it matters.

I can assure you with 100% confidence that a set of name brand game improvement irons would have you bouncing off the walls.

It also matters what you mean by clones. I would assume you are talking about knockoffs in this case.

Total price for a complete set with grips(other than the ones that come stock) and 1 1/2" longer shaft was $330. I tried to find a name brand used set, but I found nothing in that price range, whatever money I would saved would have been spent, getting the clubs customized. I went to a couple of golf shops in the NOLA area, and honestly the dudes that worked there acted like snobs, and didn't offer much help. I called pinemeadow, and the rep was helpful and patient. I remember the phone conversation lasting at least 30 mins. Customer service goes a long way in my book, so ultimately that was the deciding factor for me.

I don't think they would be considered knockoffs. I would think knockoffs would have to be purchased more discretely. The company I bought my clubs from has a website and a good customer service department.

LOL. Of course they were. They are making 100%+ margin on this.

Just looked at the site. Def clones. And not very good ones. I see they tried to do the hawkeye, r9, razr, burner 2.0, and burner plus. And im pretty sure the yukon is the mashe. lol

FWIW...
Clones are very bad clubs. They are cheaply made and just made to look like others on the outside.
counterfeits are technically sound throughout the entire club.

If you are just learning to play then knockoffs are fine. Cheap and they will help you learn what style iron you like to buy in the future.
If you are anywhere near decent knockoffs are a No No

You may be right, but I've never read anywhere that paying more for clubs made you a better golfer. The money I saved allowed me to get lessons (isn't that what most people recommend). The instructor didn't ask me what kind of clubs I was using, he asked how long had I been playing golf.

Its not about paying more. Its more about getting better value fr a better product...
Would you rather buy a 2005 honda accord for 10k or buy a 2014 fonda acorn for 7k that looks like it?
