The truth is that name brand golf clubs depreciate fairly quickly for the most part so you can get some cheap real deal clubs that are a couple of years old

How I got my current irons. Got my Adams a4 Forged brand new at Dicks for $249 (a steal).

These are the kind of clubs I am looking for right now. I think I may start with a used set of irons first. I am reluctant to get rid of my driver, because I've been smashing the ball as of late.

This is the beauty of golf. There are so many club ho's that want to keep up with others that people will buy the "next greatest club" and unload their barely used clubs for cheap. On some of the golf forums you can get stuff thats only been hit a couple of rounds. In my opinion, unless you have to have things when they first come out (or money is no object to you), there is no need to ever get brand new equipment because the used stuff is really cheap and barely even used.
