Going to the LSU playoff game on the 28th and I have Sunday morning 29th free for a round of golf. Don’t know anything about courses in Atlanta but I have a coworker seeing if his friend can get me on at East lake or Atlanta athletic club, but said very slim chance since they will be with their family.

Anyone have any good recommendations for Atlanta golf?

Looks like it’s going to be raining the whole weekend. Thanks for the advice though!

The Manor and White Columns are in great shape for what you pay for. Obviously not a Peachtree or East Lake though.

If you're going to the playoff game on the 28th, then you should be in no shape to play golf on the 29th.

I’m one of those lame guys who got all their drinking out of their systems in college unfortunately.

I'd add Echelon and Cobblestone to the Frog/Bear's best. For public courses I think those 4 are a tier above everything else ~1hr from the city.

Heritage Golf Links is a fun little track.

I’ll add Stone Mountain and Legacy on Lanier as well.

Echelon or Chateau Elan.

Trust me. I live in ATL and I played competitive junior golf for 8 years.

I’m not lying when I say I’ve played almost every Public course in ATL.

Thanks for the tip. I’ll be nearby with the in-laws for Christmas.

Here’s a fun round, If you enjoy being kicked in the balls for 5 hours. Play Echelon from the back tees. It’s about 7900 yards. At least four 250 yard + forced carries off the tee.

Well yeah, it’s a beautiful course. Difficult as hell too.

I guess if you are plus or scratch, it’s about the challenge. I suck and would never play any tee more than 6400 and preferably 6000-6200.

I play the whites at the south course, pretty sure the tips at that course would cause me to relapse

I haven’t done it yet, but have a guy in our group who is a 4-5 handicap. He was saying one day that he could break 100 on any course from the tips, playing it down, putting out everything, etc. Basically playing it like the pros.

We made a bet and the other guys got pick the course. We chose Echelon from the tips. On #2, it was playing into the wind and there was no way to carry the tee shot over the ravine. He legit had to aim right, hit his shot into the red stake hazard and take the drop just to get off the tee box...He shot 107 that day. Lol That course is a beast!

Ended up being a little too wet to get out their on Sunday, we just hopped in the car and drove back right when we woke up. Thanks for all the suggestions though.
