Anyone play there recently? Have a tournament there on Sunday. I’ve never played it… appreciate any tips on scoring well there (place not to miss, any blind trouble to be aware of, etc)

Beaver is pretty much all out in front of you. What you see from the tee box is what you get. Try to stay left on 13 and right on 14 though. Doing the opposite of that can easily add 50-75 yards to those holes.

- Don't miss short right of the green on #6 if you're going for it in 2.

- Stay on the right side of #13

- Practice your left to right less than driver tee shot for #14

Other than that, the course is pretty much WYSIWYG.

So on #13 do you basically play the #14 hole? Because those trees and bunkers on the left of #13 are no joke and I try to go more right of that area to leave myself with about a 100 yard approach on my third shot.

1- down the right side over the bunker if you can. if not, its a short hole so its ok if you go left, can just get shortsided over there.
2- opens up over and to the right of the right fairway bunker you see from the tee. any miss other than short of the green will leave a tough up and down
5- driver down the left puts you in position A, but its a really short hole, so just hit any club in play and youll have a decent shot at birdie
6- par five with OB down the left if youre not careful. can go for it over the trees or with a left to right shot. pin on the left makes it difficult. bailing out left of the green leaves a pretty hard wedge over a bunker. right is bad and long is a tough downhill wedge
9- anything more than 220 off the tee is too much
10- driver down the left is the play, but its very short. main goal is to not shortside yourself with a short wedge into the green, which can happen down the right. should have a decent birdie chance
11- reachable par 5. water jumps out more than you can see, stay down the right. birdie hole if you do
12- fairway finder again. pretty straightforward other than that
13- going for it in 2 is not advised, sucks if you miss the green. play down the right and lay up to a number for an easy wedge into a green sloped at you
14- 210 left to right shot off the tee. approach will play long. par is a great score
16- left to right tee shot. long through the fairway can lead to a lost ball. the approach has always played half a club shorter for me.

other than that, stay below the hole because they usually have quick greens. and it can get pretty windy out there

It was still wet on Sunday. Poa on greens is bad right now. Expect some bounces. The course is usually always in good shape though.

There’s a drone flyover video for every hole on their website. That’ll tell you everything

Played recently. Greens are COVERED with POA. Also, they were pretty bumpy. If they dont do something fast, they're going to lose em. Never seen their greens that bad.

Pretty sure this is a common problem all over right now. Heard Santa Maria is the same.

I heard the EPA is restricting the cocktail ingredients needed to fight the latest strand. Sucks

Poa is a huge issue and the chemicals that we have to use on Bermuda grass greens are showing resistance. very few pre-emerge products that work on Poa for greens, and the Post emerge produce are working less and less each season.

Course was great other than the Poa. We only had one player out of 48 beat their handicap, so it was a good test. Thought it was a fun course, really well designed and bunkered. Except for 14. That hole is just dumb.

Y’all East Baton Rouge Peeps need to rescind that no beer sales before noon on Sunday law!
