Seems like the biggest issue was with the general lack of communication. The guy telling them it’s “playable” but not letting them play is also not great. Should have had more guys out there trying to work on the course.

People are also forgetting it’s not just one or two groups trying to find enough daylight to play 18 holes. There are like 14 teams with five players each in the field. That’s somewhere between 20-25 groups that have to get 18 holes completed. That’s gonna take a little more than 4 hours.

96 players ... 32 groups ... all walking ... it would take about 10 1/2 hours to get 18 holes in if all are teeing off on one hole. I assume they would have tried to use a shotgun start this afternoon and given the conditions it would have took about 7 hours to finish. Not enough daylight to play today. They maybe could have got nine holes in on Monday and nine in on Tuesday. But even that would have been difficult. Just a terrible situation with the weather.

I mentioned it last page but imagine the uproar if they had a shotgun start yesterday afternoon then couldn't finish that round due to darkness.
If today's forecast had occurred as predicted and they weren't able to finish that round, there would have been a full field of players with ~15 holes completed. Per NCAA rules, since 18 holes weren't completed, the top 6 seeded teams would still advance.
Imagine that shitshow if those top 6 teams were not in the top 6 at that time.
Obviously they likely would have been able to complete the round today, but hindsight remains undefeated.

I wasn’t really coming to the defense of the NCAA, the guys announcement was flat out terrible.
Just laying out a scenario that potentially could have taken place had they tried to squeeze in a round Monday or Tuesday afternoon.

Tpc Louisiana is offering to host now. People are stupid. UClub could get 18 in today, probably. That isn't the issue. There is a deadline. If the deadline is pulled by the ncaa, which it isn't, I'm sure UClub old host.

It will basically be an amateur invitational. I don’t think the coaches are allowed to coach though.
