Tough scene for Mark Emmert and the boys.

I do wonder how much U Club had to do with this.

I want to know what he means by playable but not championship playable? It is either playable or it isn't. It may suck playing lift, clean and place, but you gotta work to get it in.

I imagine it means "UClub doesn't want you beating their course to death and they are making us cancel" but the NCAA is going to eat a big pile of shite on this one.

It being a women's tournament is going to make it way worse. Should have just said it was unplayable.

This is ridiculous IMO. Delay it a day or two if you have to, why cancel it completely? Or just let them play the soaking wet course, if they’re all playing the same conditions what’s the problem?

If it really is UClub doesn’t want them messing up the course that’s horrible for UClub to do. One of the reasons they redesigned that course was so they could attract college tournaments

You would hope UClub doesn't get a say. Cant imagine any private clubs would want a tournament out there in this slop. So I wouldn't blame them. But once you've committed to hosting, whether it gets played should be out of the clubs hand.

Play had to be completed by this evening so extending til tomorrow or the weekend wasn't an option.

There's pics on twitter out there showing the course is "playable", however there are currently a few holes that still have ponds in the middle of the fairways, some of which are in landing zones off the tee.

Standing water all over the place isnt playable. If they would have just said that it's a non story.

So, casual water. Take a drop.

Yeah the guy did not word his announcement real well, bet he wishes he could take a mulligan.

Could also move some tees to take the water out of the landing zone. You could play some of the par 4s as par 3s. They are all playing the same course.

The pic of the men's team practicing is a tough look. Curious if members will be able to sneak in a round this afternoon lol

Didn't appear to be that much water. No way Uclub couldn't have got that water off if they got the green light for play.

Kind of agree, but the men aren't even playing. They're on the range.

I've got to assume the range would've been open for the women had they decided to let them to play.

I'm shocked the tweet said they didn't have a big maintenance staff out there. I would have expected, under the circumstances, to have the men's team or members of UClub or lsu athletic department members out there trying to make it playable. I mean, I wouldn't let any of them on a mower, but they let diamond girls sweep the infield, you'd think the guy that cuts the baseball fields grass could handle a broom and squeegee.

Allegations that they didn't ready do anything to get the course ready. Just an overall bad look for BR, LSU, and the club.

That's bogus, as a member of the club, they did plenty to prepare in the weeks leading up. It was in perfect shape before this rain came through Monday.

That's not what he or the article is alleging

All I mean is it’s tough to prepare for 8” of rain in a couple days.

Yea, I'm not alleging anything officially. Just relaying what I'm seeing. I'm not out there.

I'm sure the course was in great shape on Sunday. I'm sure y'all have been CPO for a week or two. The greens were probably rolling great and the pics posted make it look like it is in great shape. Super green grass. I agree, you can't do anything to prep for 8" of rain. You can do things to after or during the rain to get the course playable. That's what is being alleged wasn't done.

I mean, a literal squeegee can make a big difference in drying it out.
