Because they have a superintendent, that knows what he's doing, granted they don't get the play the rest Webb, Santa Maria Beaver

It's BREC... they have the money to maintain they just don't, it is what is is, until somebody in charge knows how to fix it, Is there 1 agronomist on staff at BREC, probably not

You’re right. Tine for a shake up in the BREC golf hierarchy.

I’m a member at Carter. They punched 7/23. Played yesterday, 8/25. Fully healed and lightning fast.

it flooded Friday night and greens irrigation ran Friday night. You played in worst case scenario conditions. roughs were sprayed recently for weeds so the roughs haven't been mowed in a week or so to allow the herbicide to work. you're saying you aren't bashing the island but you are. If you only knew what went on behind the curtain, you'd change your tone. those greens were double punched with very large tines so normally 4 weeks is fine but it will prob be another week or 2. everyone else says the place is good because it is good. They're not BRCC OR CCL or Beaver creek flush with money and help. If you only knew what is being used to create the islands product, you'd be clapping in appreciation for the Maint. crew's efforts..

The whole point of this thread is to provide near real time information on greens. It's not bashing a course to say that their greens are currently bad. It's just letting people know that they may need to avoid the course for a few weeks until the greens heal.

For example, I love the Island, but I don't get to go often. I don't want to drive an hour to get there only to find the greens were recently punched.

All you really did was validate his experience.

And this is what this thread can devolve into. You can make weather and monetary excuses for just about any course but a few. If people can be objective and not get offended by their home course getting an honest review, then this could be a good thread with honest reporting.

It’s crazy how oblivious you are to how weird and ridiculous this response is

It’s a shame that Clark’s greens are in the shape they are after renovations just a couple of years ago.
I played Clark a few weeks ago and the greens were better than any of the other BREC courses.

Lots of words there buddy. If it was not in good shape and the club knew it, then drop the rate down from $80.

Islands greens today were outstanding. Rolled true and quick.

Greystone’s greens were a little fuzzy today. Not sure what that was about. Still very good, but fuzzy. They have their club championship this weekend, so maybe they’re prepping for that? No clue.

I’m going to try to filter this sort of thing out.

Playing Pelican Friday so I’ll have a report on the new greens. Hopefully they were worth the wait

Anyone played Beaver Creek recently and are the greens back to running smoothly?

*side note… be honest but don’t offend any superintendents or maintenance crews that are on this site ;)

Played yesterday, they rolled good enough for me to 3 putt more than I’d like to admit.
