I have been trying different balls the past couple of months.

I thought that I settled on the Titleist Tour Speed until today...

I had a 2 ball sample pack of the Bridgestone BX and I threw it in the bag figuring that I would try it a hole or 2.

I started crushing this ball off the tee and had zero issues flying it into the green. If anything it was a few yards longer off my irons.

I'm a big guy and still with some decent speed and smash factor, but I am 67.

The box says it's rated for 105 plus SS, which I know I'm not any more. It has to be 90 plus compression right ?

This ball is at least 10 yards longer off the tee for me than the Tour Speed.

Anyone else experience this type result ?

Yes. When I switched from Bstone XS to TP5X. I saw noticeable distance gains.

I went from using the Callaway ERC to these new Mizuno's I just picked up and noticed I was getting a noticable difference on distance and spin around the green..

Is it the ball?..Possibly

A bit of pep in my step over a new product.. also possible..

I've stopped trying to figure out this game and just kinda go with it and play the shots that unfold in front of me..

Bridgestone TOUR B X
The ball is on the firm side with 98 compression, on par with other premium “X” ball offerings. In MyGolfSpy ball testing, the TOUR B X achieved top 5 results in driver ball speeds and stayed middle of the road for spin, providing balanced performance.Mar 3, 2022

Technology gets better and better, our scores generally stay the same. It is a fickle game. Good one day, terrible the next, or in my case good one hole and terrible the next.

It’s a great ball. Been gaming the BX since they came out. Hit the B330s before then.

My swing speed is high. Prob in the low 120s.

THIS^^
I learned to play golf at 15. Got to a 10 hdcp in about 2 years. Off the shelf Spaulding golf clubs with persimmon woods, and a sleeve of TopFlite's.
46 years later, I have been fitted for clubs, better tech, better balls, "smarter" ..... and ...... I'm a 9 hdcp. All that for 1 stroke!!!

Convinced that golf balls don't make that big a difference until you have a certain swing speed. I've shot in the 70's with RockFlite's, and in the 70's with TP5s. More often than not, it's not the ball.

God I love this game.

I kind of a late bloomer to the game.. While I've ben around it all my life b/c most of my family played I didn't really pick up the game until my late 20's.. First round I ever played was at Carter Plantation ...Shot an unkind 125.. Yet I kept coming back after that.. I basically used 2 sets of hand me down clubs for the first 10 years or so , then i bought myself a second hand set of PXGs.. Just a few weeks ago I finally got fitted for Iron's.. Goal is to get into the single digit handicap range... Will that happen? Hell I hope so.. If not I'll have a pretty set of new Irons to suck at this game with..

I agree, I'm not good enough to have to have a certain ball.. I can tell you I don't like the feel I get from the cheap ones.. But I honestly don't hit them any different.. Hell this past weekend I played The Island and found and old Nike ball.. I decided what the hell I'll play it, It looked brand new so why not.. I put my Mizuno back in my pocket and continued on b/c I knew several water hazards were ahead of me.. Had I been playing a ProV or My current Mizuno... One of them would have found the water without a doubt... Nope, not the rock hard Nike though... Played the rest of the round until I attempted to kill it on 18 and it finally sailed off into a watery grave.. But that was more my fault that the ball.. My power fade reared it's ugly head..

Do you have, or someone you know, have a SAMs membership?
Vice Pro golf balls. 24 pack for $50. Can't beat that.

For real?? I've never seen them in there.. assuming they can be ordered online.. b/c I do like the Vice Pro's.. I do play those as well.. My daughter found one on the course one day and played it the rest of her round and absolutely loved them.. so that's all she plays now..
