Hopefully the grounds crew can get it looking better looking in the next couple of weeks, not sure what they can do though.

It's called overseed and that's completely normal for this time of year, except the greens would be dug up right now, too.
It will look just fine.

Obviously, they wouldn't want it looking like that for the tournament, but I was just thinking if it gets/stays cold enough there is probably very little they can do. I mean NFL fields start to look like shite during the colder months of the year and most of them are heated.

The pics you posted are nothing new, as mentioned previously, they overseed in the Fall with a blend of Bermuda and rye.

Thanks for the clarification, I know nothing about growing/science of grass other than one of the main reasons I love watching the rose bowl and the masters because of how pretty the grass is

No worries. Just know, that when you have the most exclusive member list in the world worth billions, if not trillions of dollars, along with international prestige and a worldwide viewing audience - you have EVERYTHING at your disposal in order for the playing surface to look pristine.
Oh, and it looks even better in person. That place is heaven on Earth.

You should know by now that Augusta National would not host the tourney if they thought the course would not be ready. This is when the course is open to members. Closed in Summer. You think the club would be as prestigious as it is if the course was not pristine for its nembers?

You can see the grass all around 12 looks good so obviously they are doing something to the rest of it to not be green like that.

This is a cross of Bluegrass, Kentucky Bluegrass, Featherbed Bent, and Northern California Sensemilia. The amazing stuff about this is, that you can play 36 holes on it in the afternoon, take it home and just get stoned to the bejeezus-belt that night on this stuff.

Do you know the date these were taken. Rye grass should be up now in northern Georgia so these may be a month or so old.
The lines in the fairway looks like Some heavy verticitting going on to me. That may be the day the rye was planted. They may even spray the Bermuda to help it go into dormancy. I would think they plant overseed in late September possible early October.
