Are all of your clubs the same flex?

I prefer wedges to be stiffer and heavier.

I just changed my irons to senior flex.

Should I consider changing through the set?

No, but my balls do. Flex to the left and flex to the right.

Everything is stiff flex. The swing weights are all different.

Wedges heavier and softer. More 1/2-3/4 shots with wedges. Not sure why one would have stiffer shafts in their wedges but to each their own.

I am getting long in the tooth. Will be 70 in a couple years. I have also had multiple back surgeries that have affected my swing. The result is I changed the shafts in my clubs. Everything but the woods have Senior flex shafts, and they work well for the swing I have today. I tried senior flex in my woods but found I still swing too hard, so I put together a set of regular flex for the woods. The longer the shaft gets the more flex the shaft will have for every given shaft rating. YMMV

Just to clarify, my wedges are stock kbs110 steel. They are not “stiff” just regular.

I normally play S400 shafts in my wedges.

But I am using graphite shafts now.

I want wedges soft since I play so many partial shots. I like a softer stiff or even R in driver for feel. Stiffer in FWs and Hybrids to avoid left.

That's what I don't understand because I never use a full swing with my wedges.

To assist flighting full shots.

I do Heavier weaker flex to help flighting and good for partial shots.

Flighting shouldn’t be done by having stiffer shafts in your wedges than you do the rest of your set. A lot of people go agains the rule of thumb but softer and heavier in shafts is the norm. Very normal for one to have the same shafts in their gap wedge than they do the rest of the set but odd to put a stiffer shaft in your lob and sand wedge.

Yup.

According to True Temper, the tour is roughly 60/40 softer in wedges to same. They also say same for GW.

I recently tested a stiff shaft in my 7 iron and didn't care for it. Went back to my regular shaft even though according to swing speed etc, I should be in stiff.

I also put stiff in my 3 wood and driver and love it.

So currently I'm regular in irons and my hybrids, stiff in my 3 wood and driver.

I have watched a bunch of youtube videos with guys hitting the same head with shafts from l to X. Always amazed at how similar the numbers are.
