I played it a couple years ago right after it opened. It was interesting to see the layout because I also played there a couple times when Blaketree National was on that property—that was a hell of a course and amazing land, but they had problems from the start.

Anyways, the hospitality and amenities at Bluejack are ridiculous. They announced us off the first tee, they have a snack house (filled with all sorts of food and drinks) on the 6th hole. Someone brings you a cool rag when you walk off the 9th green. On 12 they have a BBQ shack where you can get BBQ off the pit and beer on tap. We had people check in on our group 3-4 times with snacks and other things, while also asking if we have any special requests. I’m told they bring you pretty much anything you want while you’re out there—bottle of bourbon, steak, new clubs, etc. Everything is just top notch, though you do pay for it.

The course is fun as hell. No rough and crushed quartz bunkers make it really playable. They lost a couple greens because they went too short for a member guest, but I’d chalk that up to the course still being new at the time. We played the tips and it was challenging, but still had plenty opportunities to score.

Mark O’meara was out there that day on the range with his dogs. I played with one of the assistant pros because we were there on a reciprocal and he said Patrick Reed, who’s a member out there, is exactly the a-hole he’s made out to be. The pro had been with Bluejack from when they started building the course, so he knew almost every nook and cranny. It was neat hearing him talk about the course and how Tiger would walk it and change various features based on how he wanted people to play.

Most of the planned community wasn’t built back then and they had just opened the little short course. I would love to get out there again to see how it’s come along.

I’ll never forget that round, not just because of the course, but on the par 3 12th, I knocked my first ball in the water, took my penalty, and re-teed...then holed it out from 190 for par. Would’ve been my second hole in one if it weren’t for that damn first tee shot

I played it as Blaketree several times and one as Bluejack.

Poster above was right, the service was spectacular.

When Blaketree first opened, the green speeds were crazy fast.

Would definitely play it again.

It’s a great course... very friendly for scoring. Beautiful piece of property that is perfectly manicured. The amenities besides golf also make it a completely different experience. Probably the most laid back country club in the US.

How did you all get on? Through a reciprocal/pro shop call?

I have played every top course in the Houston area because of my job.

Houston Country Club, Carlton Woods and Lochinvar are my favorites.

Pine Forest, River Oaks and Braeburn CC's are underrated.

If all that you care about is great golf and course, then Riverbend, Champions and Magnolia Creek will make you play better because of thier difficulty.

I just retired, so that playing privelige has dried up lol

If it weren't so far away from downtown, I'd say its easily the best golf facility in Texas...as others have said amenities are second to none. Golf course is not hard, at all, but that was how it was supposed to be. Family friendly golf and they have perfected it.
I found the par 4 playground to be the best part - just a wedge, putter, and cooler.
We enjoyed the kickball field until the wee hours.

Bluejack is a fun course. Houston Oaks is a better course/facility

No one really talks about River Oaks CC in our golf circles, probably because of the exculisivy.

The time that I played it, it was very manicured and in great shape because it gets so little play.

It’s been ages since I got to play. I believe a handful of Renos have been done.

It’s an awesome layout and always in great shape.

I’d need to get out there again but when I was lucky enough to play both ROCC> HCC

I need to get back to kissing arse

I played Houston CC with a couple of mini tour guys and it was a blast watching those guys throw darts all day.

I belonged to Sweetwater CC for awhile but never really liked it.

If I was going to join a club again, it would be Riverbend CC since I live in Sugarland. I really love that course, it is so challenging from the different tee boxes.

Played Lochinvar last summer. Great shape but the course is boring. The people there were stuck up assholes as well. Give me Cartlon Woods all day.

Sugar creek cc is in phenomenal. Shape but they get get crazy with the greens speed. Like 13.5 to 15 sometimes. Ball will not stop down hill or down grain.
