This just isn't true. A baseball grip can do more harm than good. The hands aren't working together so it makes it harder to tell if you're gripping it too hard or too weak so you're increasing the chance of you having a slice or hook dramatically. It's just harder to control. It limits your control and accuracy.

There's nothing to say that a interlocking or overlapping grip is better than the other, but it can easily be said that a baseball grip is worse than both of them.

Again, if you don't play much or don't necessarily care about getting better, a 10 finger grip is fine. But if you want to improve your game, you need to be using a different grip.

baseball style grip

99% of people I see with this grip break their wrist in the backswing. Impact is gone from there.

I think both of y’all are correct. He said as long as your hands are in the right place it’s fine, which is true. It’s just harder for that to happen more consistently using the baseball grip.

I have rounds where my hands are in the right place and I can play decent. But I can also get to flippy from time to time and that’s not a great place to be.

Been playing golf over 40 years, started as a 12-year old. Since I was a baseball kid, the 10 finger grip felt most natural. I have never tried another grip. I've turned out to be a pretty decent golfer. Have won a few local tournaments, started breaking 80 in my 20's and over the years have become a 0 handicap using the 10 finger grip. I don't recommend the grip to anyone, I occasionally give lessons to new players and always encourage the more traditional grips. That being said, if it's comfortable and you believe in it, the game can be played at a reasonably high level using the 10 finger.

I’ve used the 10 finger “baseball” grip my entire life

I can(but don’t) interlock with wedges. Anything above that I can barely hold onto the club.
