Have only played a few times in past 10 years (kids, back issues work) but played for 20 years before that. Where is best place to buy clubs these days, I am willing to pay a bit more for advice but dont want to pay too much? Thanks in advance

Play for a 6 months to a year before buying new clubs so your swing can be properly fit

eBay, etc grab something a year or two old

Global golf has some of the best deals I’ve found
Download the honey plug in on google chrome and run it while everything is in your cart and watch the discounts get applied

Similar situation with kids activities sucking up a lot of my time. Taking the game back up more seriously after a few years off. Just decided that I need to make it a point to play more. Last year played about a dozen times and decided I want to deep dive back into the game.
Used golf club prices are high right now but there are some good finds out there. I just bought a set of used Mizuno JPX 850 Forged irons off of 2nd Swing for $600 4-G. 8.0 rating on condition and I'd say they were slightly used, in great shape. I think $600 was a little high but relative to everything else I looked at it was a decent buy.
Callaway Pre-owned is a good place. Like new items are basically new. Just picked up a Mavrik hybrid in like new condition for $115. The entire Mavrik line of drivers, woods, and hybrids are on deep discount.
Somebody mentioned Global Golf. I'd search there and 2nd Swing. A lot of the items I saw on eBay were actually 2nd Swing listings that I saw for cheaper on their own site.

PXG has the 0211 irons on sale for $ 79.00 a club with either steel or graphite shafts.
Good looking clubs that are very forgiving and long.

They are actually selling sets on Amazon. Buddy just bought the 211s on Amazon - 6-PW - for like $400.

Edwin Watts in Kenner has maybe a dozen options of used sets at what I thought were reasonable prices. Plus the hitting bays are open if you want to compare a couple of options.

Yep. Just checked Amazon and could have gotten 4-G 211s for $632.
Could have joined the PXG cult instead of the Mizuno cult, LOL!

Thinking about new irons been ablut a decade since my i15s.
Still hit em well looking for a little more distance
Anyone hitting Srixon Zx5s or TM 790s
Was looking at those I still swing it well for getting up in age. Wasnt sure if they were a club for a lower Handicap player.
Both clubs look greatat setup. Where would you get fitted in the Lafayette area
Would need s shafts as well
Thx

ZX5 > 790's IMO.
Pairing them with the Nippon Modus shafts are a great combo.

Another bit of advice I would give is if see are something you want at a price that is good for you, don't hesitate, buy it.
I was looking at a set of JPX 900 irons that I could have bought for a little over $500 a month ago. I stalled on it and they sold. Followed JPX 900 and 850s around for another month before pulling the trigger on a set of 850s for $600. I now see Global Golf has an exact set of 850s for over $700.
Was looking at a golf bag a couple days ago and was ready to buy but it was about midnight. Said I'd sleep on it and order in the morning if I still wanted it. Woke up 7 hours later and prices had increased $40-50 across the board.
The golf market appears to be very volatile. So be ready to pull the trigger. To be fair, I'm seeing the same thing apply to just about everything these days given supply chains, energy and transportation costs, and inflation. Get it while you can.

The 5's have more forgiveness and game improvement qualities.
