Played Tuesday, couldn’t break 90. Arthritis has reared its ugly head, couldn’t swing without pain, any miss hit was excruciating. First time it happened and is very depressing. Hoped it was just a bad day, but it hasn’t quit hurting since.

I’ve been doing some research and in addition to taking medication, which will probably take time to help. Anyone else out there run into this? Looking for suggestions, saw going to larger grips is supposed to help so that’s one thing I’ll probably be doing.

Kinda desperate here, just retired to be able to go play when I want in addition to spoiling my new grandchild rotten, so experiences from anyone else with the problem would be appreciated.

My swing is different every day.
Some days, the motion is great, some days it is just difficult to move.

With that said, here are the things that help me:
1. Don’t overdo it in warming up.
2. Stretch, stretch, stretch
3. Ibuprofen.
4. Walk if you can
5. Lower you expectations
6. Take more club
7. 3/4 swing
8. Move up a tee if you are having trouble with distance

I normally take Alleve, isn’t touching this. I got a prescription for an anti-inflammatory I’m not supposed to take with Naproxen, so it’s ibuprofen I guess from here on out.

I’d get a doctor to examine you.

Non-stop pain is not good.

With rest, ice, compression, and elevation most things get better.

Can you place that hand flat on a table or are the fingers contracted?

Supposed to get seen the 16th and get X-rayed. If it’s still hurting like this Monday I’ll probably just go to GP.

Can place flat. Bending or especially gripping anything is when it spikes.

No specific injury moment?

No risk for carpal tunnel? Did you work a good bit with a keyboard?

No other joint involvement?

I have trigger fingers. Bad back with h/o herniated disc. My flexibility is not great.
I still want to play, but I’m limited.

Bigger grips may help. They make some really big ones now. I use midsize except driver.

I have dealt with RA for the past 15 years. I inject myself with a shot of Enbrel every week , which is a miracle treatment for me and allows me to play golf without pain.

If you believe that it is more than a irritation than I would see a Rheumatologist and get a blood test.

There are a hundred different types of Arthritis and it doesn't mean a strong drug therapy every time.

Try strict Keto for a few weeks. It’ll get rid of a lot of inflammation.

Carnivore diet for 30 days to start. No cheating and you will be amazed. 62 years old and can play 36 and zero pain. Don’t listen to the bunk about cholesterol and heart disease if you eat red meat. Dr. Ken Berry on YouTube and many other cardiac doctors are advocating for it. Many many health testimonials on YouTube. I used to have neuropathy and swollen knuckles along with myriad of health issues. .Feel like I am in my 30’s again. Give it a try for 30 days what do you have to lose??

It's just life Dog.

Because of sports and motorcycles, I had 9 broken bones, cervical fusion, 6 Artho surgeries and a total knee replacement.

My RA is a autoimmune issue that I believe that I have had most of my life.

I always fought against it, which I believe is bad advice in hindsight. It's better to address any medical issue and develop a plan.

I still love sports, playing golf several times a week and walking my dog a mile or two.

Oversized grips. Also eat more cinnamon. If you drink coffee put cinnamon in it. Find a way to take some each day.
