Good Afternoon,

Haven’t gamed much since my 360 days as a teen. I have the itch to play the new Ncaa game coming out.

Is Xbox S sufficient for just that one game (ncaa 27)? I prefer to buy new. I may get a Madden or a 2K game later on. I understand the storage capacity and graphics aren’t as good as the X or PS5. Thanks!

If you are buying this game in hope of recapturing the magic that was the NCAA games in the PS2/PS3 Xbox/360 days, don't waste your money, especially if it means buying a new console for it.

The comeback games have been very bare with wonky gameplay.

Yes the Series S is plenty to be able to run College Football 27.

Brotha I wouldn’t waste my money on a Series S. I’d either just spend the little extra money to buy a way better performing console in the series X or I’d just save my money.

You have always talked crap about this game but most of us love it. The gameplay has been really good for the most part. The only problem I had with gameplay last year was it being too easy for me to run the ball against the cpu but it was even easier to run the ball in the PS2/PS3 days. The cpu also has trouble running the ball but it's always been like that as well.

Supposedly from people that played the beta, those 2 areas are improved for 27.

Yea I've thoroughly enjoyed them. I don't do online stuff nearly as much as I did back then, but I am enjoying the dynasty just as much. Road to Heisman/Glory modes maybe not as good, but those frustrated the hell out of me in 2014 too

I wish the QB play would improve. Like I should be able to step up when they pocket collapses. I should be able to scramble. Just have more control in general. More than just a audible. If I'm in death valley running my play should be more difficult, noise, ect.

I’m split now.

Maybe just buy a PS5, xbox S, or save my money

I’ll see if I still have the urge to play once the game comes out in early July

If you live in the Baton Rouge area Gameware sells used consoles and you can get a one year no hassle warranty at additional cost. They are mom and pop operation and I've had nothing but good service with them. A used series S is going to be your cheapest route and is fine IF that a a few other sports games is all you plan to play. Should be good to go with that for a few more years.

Go on Facebook Marketplace and find you a cheap Series X/S. Don't go buy a brand new console.

PS5 Pro gets my vote and I have a Series X as well. We have an online dynasty if you want to join:

CFB 27 TD Dynasty

Get a used Series S on Facebook marketplace for 200-250. I have one I bought used like that. My kids play games on it including College Football and Madden. It looks completely fine and plays fine.

They are happy as a pig in shite. Honestly reminds me of when I was a kid. We didn’t care about graphics and frames. Just the pure experience of gaming. Which you will 100% get with a used Series S.

I’d buy before the price hikes send the used market further north.

Don't listen to the guy that says is Series X or nothing. For casual gaming the Series S is fine. If you are buying new, just make sure to do it before the August 1st price increase. In all honesty, you can just get the Series S, try it out, and if the quality isn't good enough for you, then return it and get the Series X. You won't have to buy the game again as it will be on your XBOX account.

Buy a PS5 base, get last year's game for 10 bucks then get this years game on black friday for like 30 bucks. I still have been playing '25 but will probably update to '27 once it goes on sale in a few months.
