@XboxSupport3
@ModronFixer No fee, correct - and they just got that information wrong. As soon as we saw, we contacted them to correct it. ^EM

Anybody know how the live TV thing works? I have one of those HD Homerun Primes so I can watch Live TV over my network. Can I just network that thing into the XBox One and control all of my live TV through there? Or do I have to use the XBox One as an extender?

Oh man... TouchTheRobotButt is gonna hold them to it.
Nothing to worry about anymore.

MS just needs to issue a release of details like this to squash the rumors.

WTF is going on? Do they know what consistency is?
LINK
They really need to clarify this. Are they saying they can use the disc to install then pay and both of them can play? Or is this after the 1st person deactivates the game?

Update 2: Our man on the ground Tom Bramwell was able to speak to corporate vice president of Microsoft Phil Harrison about this hot-button issue and was able to confirm that a second user can install a game from a friend's disc for a fee, though it's unclear how much this will be. Harrison also confirmed that several users sharing a console can access the same game at no additional charge, and Microsoft has "a solution" for the resale market, though it's staying mum on those for now.

I mean its horrible. I cant stand that fricking controller dude. That and Halo are probably the only 2 reasons im an Xbox guy
This. My pinkies dangle off the DS controller, sticks are terrible, so are the triggers. I'd be anxious to try the DS4 but the new Xbox One controller hasn't shaken anything up, but improved what I already liked.

The DS4 is quite a change, actually.

Saw that. I already know I will probably own both just like I have a 360 and a PS3 now. I don't see Msoft pricing this more than $500.

Microsoft answers big questions.
Q: Does Xbox One require an “always on” Internet connection?
A: No, it does not have to be always connected, but Xbox One does require a connection to the Internet. We’re designing Xbox One to be your all-in-one entertainment system that is connected to the cloud and always ready. We are also designing it so you can play games and watch Blu-ray movies and live TV if you lose your connection.
Q: Can I use my current gamertag on Xbox One and will my Gamerscore and Achievements transfer?
A: Yes. Your current Xbox Live Gamertag will stay with you on Xbox One if you choose to keep it, and your hard-earned Gamerscore and Achievements will indeed carry over from Xbox 360.
Q: Will Xbox One be backward compatible with my existing games?
A: Xbox One hardware is not compatible with Xbox 360 games. We designed Xbox One to play an entirely new generation of games—games that are architected to take full advantage of state-of-the-art processors and the infinite power of the cloud. We care very much about the investment you have made in Xbox 360 and will continue to support it with a pipeline of new games and new apps well into the future.
Q: Will Xbox One allow players to trade in, purchase and play pre-owned games?
A: We are designing Xbox One to enable customers to trade in and resell games. We’ll have more details to share later.
We also know Xbox Live will now support up to 1,000 friends, a far cry from the current service's 100-person limit.
Additionally, Engadget reports the machine will come with a 500GB hard drive that is non-replaceable, but the USB 3.0 slots can be used for external storage.

Looks like MS is gonna push me back to Sony. I'm not paying $500 for a Skype machine.

Their answer doesn't really clarify anything.

These reactions are comical at best.
Some of these comments are akin to people saying that they don't need a DVD player in their video game console, back in 2000.

Not surprising they have less than the PS4 (allegedly) available with the features they showcased. Supposedly 1GB on PS4 is dedicated to the OS.

Interesting article from The Verge on the "One's" TV functionality...
LINK
quote:
The problem is that the demoes weren't real — the Xbox One's TV integration is the same familiar nightmare we've known for nearly 20 years now. Instead of actually integrating with your TV service, the One sits on top of it: you plug your cable box's HDMI cable into the Xbox, which overlays the signal with its own interface. If you're lucky enough to own a newer cable box, you'll get to change channels directly through the HDMI connection, but most people will find themselves using the One's included IR blaster to control their cable or satellite boxes — a failure-prone one-way communication system that stubbornly refuses to die.
quote:
What's more, these systems only really work for live television, which you probably aren't watching. Want to watch a show recorded on your DVR? There's no way for the Xbox One to know about it, so you have to use the DVR interface. Found a great show using the One's search and discovery tools and want to record the season? Time to switch to the DVR interface again. IR blaster miss a channel change? The One's guide and channel bar will show different information than the cable box. The cable box is the canonical interface for television, and every attempt to usurp or overlay it has failed.
