Off topic: Sid, I started playing skyrim. You were right. Amazing.
I never intended to get a next gen for a couple reasons. They usually drop considerable in price after a year or two. I have a ton of 360 games I've yet to finish or even play and I usually only get a half hour or so a day to play if I'm lucky. Maybe a couple hours on the weekend.

I find this new console generation very interesting.
Previously, new consoles came out with higher specs than current PC's (unless you built a crazy expensive PC)
These new consoles are coming out with specs much lower than a mid range PC, and in fact you can build a better PC for not much more money than these consoles will cost.
I think the casual gamer and the person looking for a home entertainment center will still be all over consoles, but I do think this is going to drive even more hardcore gamers to PC's

Scanned the thread, did they say anything about always-on and decimation of the used gaming market?

I've been planning to switch over to PC since way before any console details leaked out. Console exclusives just aren't that impressive to me anymore, and all the legit indie games and tons of sales and discounts are what made me want to switch over. The details like these that leak out only make me more sure of what I want to do once this semester is over.
