WOW noob needs help!!!!

Just like it says, having a ton of fun starting the game. Any experienced players willing to help me out with some basic questions about the game? Rotations, mount farming, gear farming, how to reach different zones, where to find new pets to take, which pets are best, that sort of stuff.

I haven't played WoW in a few years but I am envious that you're doing your very first play thru. I started during Vanilla WoW and played thru Wrath of the Lich King. I've never had more fun gaming than my first play thru of vanilla WoW.
Only mounts I successfully farmed were the Deathchargers Reins and the Time-Lost Proto Drake

Honestly, just follow quest lines. Clear zones and enjoy it. I'm enjoying BfA but there isn't much end game content worth rushing to get to.

I haven't played in years, but my first bit of advice would be to keybind your spells/actions if you haven't already. It may take a while to get used to it, but it's necessary, especially for PVP.

Been a LONG time since i played so unless it's changed don't roll Need on gear that's not for your class. It's the quickest way to get booted from a good guild/raid group. As an example just because a Hunter CAN wear cloth dosn't mean you should and it sure as hell isn't as valuable to you then a mage/priest/warlock. If people in your group don't need the item then go ahead if it's still an upgrade to you(unlikely) but it won't be for long. At high raids it's even more specific...like a mage doesn't need the same stats that a priest does...again unless they've changed things. Another tip I'd give is as a noob you probably should be a support toon instead of a critical piece like Tank or Healer. Have fun and enjoy becoming a WoW addict. lol

They allow you to do that?
In FFXIV, if you don't have the class equipped for that gear, "Need" isn't even option. You can only "Greed" or "Pass".

No more group drops.
It's individual loot. You either get gear for your spec, or you don't see it.
Trading loot is allowed within the group, so some groups try to do all plate or leather.

To me the biggest difference maker was when I started using add-ins, you don't want it to ruin the game for you, but definitely help you make things a little more manageable.
Other than that, the only help I can give you is... If you have a job, then uninstall it from your computer now!

Torrent or pay for Zygor Leveling guide. Lightweight addon that will answer just about any question that you can have leveling.

Good to hear that they fixed the group loot. My other suggestion then is to get 2 professions early on it's a good way to make gold. BTW certain professions are better with certain classes.
