I can't seem to find more than 1-2 hours to play today so I guess my best coarse of action for now is to level alts 1-20/30 and then cycle through and level them off rest XP.
Random question. Say I make a warrior strictly for dungeon and raiding, Could i set some sort of macro that types in group chat when aggro abilities are resisted? Let the grp know not to do any big bursts.

I'm jsut trying to get three characters to 20 right now. lol
Around 20ish quests seem a little thin to me. Either I'm in an area where there's a target on me constantly or I have to go through gray mob quests to get to things that grant experience.
I took my horde from Silverpine to the Barrens because of this.

I did silverspine on my first server before i re rolled. Never again. Just do barrens. Get the questie addon and it will ping every avail quest on the world/zone map and show you the level of said quest.
Need twitch app to download addons, they should auto enable next time you launch but if not there will be a new option on character select where you can enable/disable.

I'm not horde, but Horde and Alliance leveling between ~18-23 is pretty situational. I bounced back and forth between Loch Modan, Westfall, Wetlands, and Redridge Mountains in that range.
In the Classic Beta, I basically went Westfall at 12 and tried to do Redridge Mountains at 19 and it just didn't work. I found myself pressing for higher level quests, dying, and wasting my time. Did some research and it's pretty common to bounce around zones during those levels (and even pretty common later on too). Do the intro quests in one zone and if you get to a point where you can't do anything else just make the trek over and do another zone.
I haven't found much time to finally post in this thread and haven't looked through it, but I hope folks are enjoying it. I know I am. I don't get to play every day for 4-5 hours at a time like I did back at original release but it's a good time playing.

I'm not horde
Also don't be afraid to grind mobs to eek out a level. I went into Shimmering Flats last night and killed green/yellow mobs until I dinged 37. Right now I'm in that weird area where I've done a good portion of the quests good for my level and the next step takes me into contested territories that I'd be on the lower end of level-wise. Sometimes it's both easier and quicker to just grind it out.
For those that don't know, green mobs/quests are your friend. Don't be like I was initially and think that yellow/orange are where the bang for your buck is.

For me it's been this way since 20-25, I have had to grind a few levels, even with zone hopping. I don't remember it being this bad in vanilla.
Noggenfoggers ftw

Yeah. I remember haven’t to group when the game came out to avoid corpse runs. Even in Westfall. Was running a lock/mage combo and we had a higher level pallet friend who’d come in and save the day for us.
Does TD have an Alliance and or Horde guild on Pagle? I love my guild but my mates have badly out leveled me and I’d prefer to experience dungeons rather that be dragged through them to be a loot whore.

I've never played anything but alliance. I thought long and hard about possibly switching to horde but a friend of mine wanted to play paladin so that made it easier.
In between quest zones I joined up one of those SM farm groups to get some easy xp so that's a way to kind of avoid solo farming.
One of my favorite things to do in classic is, if I run into Horde out in the world I always approach them friendly. Run up to them and either wave, /cheer when they kill a mob, etc. and see how they react. If they respond back with another wave or something we coexist and get our quests done. If they target and start casting or attack me, it's game on. I find that really fun. I'm not really into the ganking low levels or camping someone. I enjoy 1v1 fair fights over territory or groups vs groups.
One time I ran up to this mage that was the same level as me, I think it was level 34. I /wave and /salute and he does the same back and we go about our business. A group of 2-3 high level alliance passing through gank him and kill him pretty easily. They run off and he resurrects and starts eating. I go and sit next to him and eat and /cry to him and he /cry back. We both laugh and move on. I love Classic.

Hit 20 on the mage today and I can’t afford all the cool new spells. Cry

I'm gonna know every nook and cranny of SM Armory before I'm done. Gonna grind it from 38 to 40 and try to get all of the pieces to the set to equip as soon as I ding 40. EXP in Armory is kinda arse though.

I just hit 42 and just need to grind the shield from there. Also, if anyone needs a tank/dps/help in Mcdemarco on pagle

Is it? Which of the 3 is best?
SM farm runs wasn’t a thing in classic (that I remember anyway) so I couldn’t tell you.
I heard ZF is good farm XP 40+.

I did a 4 warrior Paladin group and it went by really quick and seemed like decent xp

Might have been partially because my groups weren't all that impressive, but at 38 a near full-clear only got me 3.5 bars of exp. With a dedicated group ready to grind that isn't being hand-held through it, it's probably more efficient.
As it stood, I got exp faster just killing mobs alone in Arathi. When I start actually grinding it with players that are more comfortable with it rather than leading people through I'll compare the results.

SM makes me mad, people don't get that you kill the healers first.
Posted on 9/20/19 at 7:37 am to DoUrden
They always mark mauraders first.
I did a cath run with tank druid, healer druid, and dps priest... no one died but it was def slower than double mage and i had to save fire blast for a finisher on runners.

SM runs was absolutely a thing in Original WoW.

The farm runs? Where you get spell cleave and run the dungeons over and over for xp?
I don't remember that at all. I was also like 12 so I may not even have noticed.

We ran it a lot for gear and xp. I'm a good bit older than you. My son is about your age.
Spell cleave wasn't a thing at the beginning. Groups were typically more balanced. That is if what you're saying by spell cleave is what I think you are.
