Don't ask me to do something then put stupid restrictions on it but with sales, Ebay, and Amazon warehouse deals I bet you I could put together a good system for $400 give or take.

I bought a 4GB 680 Classified, a Gigabyte MOBO, and a 670 FTW edition yesterday for about $200 when you take out the other crap that was in the whole deal so don't dare me to do it because I can and I have.

Zelda and Super Smash Bros was the only reason we bought Wiis. This time around, same story probably.

I made a test bench out of an old case already to get me by until I make sure I am going to keep at this.

My new sockets came in today so either tomorrow or Wednesday I am going to get to work on stuff. I hav a few things to do tomorrow but I hope to finish early enough to come back and get to work on a cheap MOBO I bought for practice.

Damn easy if you already have peripherals. Remember your HDTV is your console's "peripheral" display. You just don't calculate it into the cost during purchase.

Yeap..that's why I didn't ask Stout to include a monitor.

Im am looking at this as someone who doesn't has a desktop PC and doesn't have a game console. I think that is a fair apples comparison.

let me say again that I think that PC is def superior to the consoles..But the proection that it is the same cost to a new PS4 is incorrect in terms of value.

It is amazing what 100 dollars more in your budget and pirating as OS will do for your "budget" build. amirite?

I have at my house right now a 7870 I paid $75 for, a $10 case after rebates, a $20 AM3+ refurb Mobo, and some ram I got for $40.

There are always deals for a $40 after rebate PSU. Name brand too not some cheap POS. A $40 after rebates 500GB HDD. You can buy a cheap K/B Mouse for $20. There was an 8150 that was on clearance the other day for $90 from Tigerdirect and you can grab Windows 8 for $80.

Sure, hey you can qualify it that way. I guess the consumer has the choice. I just thought since we were paying for brand new console equipment, we could do the same with brand new PC stuff.

No. I said the mobo is a refurb and the GPU is used but you didn't say it had to be brand new stuff.

You can find good deals if you just take your time and look around. You can ask anyone here and they will tell you I post deals all of the time.

I have no doubt I could build someone a decent PC for $400 to $500. My first build last year cost me $565 with everything brand new and that included a 560Ti with a copy of BF3. It played everything I wanted to play with no problems.
