I forgot you had to left top click for the bow I was going in inventory items/weapons. I killed the rainbow bird and saw my main squeeze again after I kicked some drunken assholes asses in the pub. She took me to a castle place and I have to get past Level 3 to move on.

I was gonna say that in my other post. You should try to do EVERYTHING (explore all question marks on map) in White Orchard prior to moving on with the story.

i killed my first wraith thing. I used the circular magic then fire magic on her and my best sword

now I am in a field and the old dude gives me a crossbow but there is no time to use it; it keeps saying you cannot do that in combat.

once you get further into the game you will understand how hilarious this comment is

I am honestly jealous that you get to play this for the first time. I wish I could play it again and experience everything being new.

It took a bit but this game is great. The music when you are fighting, is it from Kill Bill? Where is it from? I am now knocking out all the question marks. I have a silver sword I will pick it and then if I need to fight the ax is used as if I never picked the sword. Right now I am trying to understand why I can't use my bow for the big arse bears I can't kill.

It was funny when his lover took him to the castle and three chicks bathed him.

Why do all the people call me a freak in that one main town? They are peasants and I am a witcher but frick them.

He automatically picks the silver sword for monsters and the steel weapon for non-monsters when entering combat.

Bows do VERY little damage. You will need your sword or axe to kill bears. Exception is when you are swimming in water targeting drowners and other creatures that are swimming. Your bow also helps to ground certain flying monsters

Theres some very interesting mutagens later in the game that offer serious crossbow buffs. I've always wanted to try them but never got around to it, I wonder if they make the crossbow more formidable

its awesome even late game you'll be one shotting in the water but doing no damage in the aie. I just practice timing swords on air things or use axii. frick the crossbow.

bow is good for underwater. the game is great. I am in limbo with a lot of quests (the first big boss in that cave with the witch) and now that miscarried baby.

why do games like this have to ruin things and go full idiotic dark? A miscarried baby that came back to life and killing it? really? I could think of a thousand different things to do before something as warped as this.

Keep in mind the Witcher games are based off a rather dark Polish fantasy book series.

The Bloody Baron storyline might be the best story in any video game ever.

I'm relatively new into this one, think I just turned level 8. Got it on a steam sale for I think $15 for the complete edition with all dlc. Really good so far. It's a good break in for my new rtx 2060 (had something like a 10 year old gtx460 before that). Runs pretty darn well in Linux too. I've definitely not mastered the finer points yet but I'm starting to get the hang of it. I mostly spam quick attacks 3 or 4 times then a roll, then repeat. I like the ard sign I think which is the fire one. I've started using the shield and trap a bit more though. I did discover the bestiary tells you weakness so that was super helpful. I haven't quite figured out the best way to manage my inventory with wanting to loot everything but not wanting to get bogged down with crap. Also the whole array of weapons and which one to use and which ones to bother to repair or just sell when they're broke. Overall good stuff. Can definitely tell its a story driven game. Haven't had too many issues with mechanics.

I held off on buying for a while since I bought Witcher 2 and only got maybe 4 or 5hrs in before losing interest or otherwise getting distracted and never finishing. Someone convinced me that I really need to play w3 regardless and I'm glad I listened.

I usually can’t stand games that have lots of story. But damn, Witcher 3 is an exception. The stories, even side quests, are amazing. I read the character bios and I like how they get updated based on your decisions.
