Witcher 3 Next-Gen Update will be available on 12/14

Played it for a few hours several months ago but then stopped when they announced there'd be a next-gen update, so really excited to dive in again

This is sick. I never played any of the Witcher games and decided to buy 3 for really cheap back in the summer when it was on sale. Maybe $10?
Of course this was right before they announced the update version coming out so I decided to hold off on playing. I'm stoked that they aren't forcing us to buy the updated game at full price.

Didn't they say something about adding DLC that connects to the Netflix show? Curious to hear more about that.
ETA: Yup, we're still getting the Netflix content (maybe a Cavill as Geralt skin?)...

I think they've previously said it'll include ray tracing and "improved visuals" (whatever that means)

I’m genuinely fricking shocked they are offering this for free. Actually makes me a bit concerned about the quality.
But I’m cautiously optimistic that they just want to make sure to get full saturation in anticipation of releasing future games.

I just started W3 for the first time. Been playing on and off for a few months, only lvl 30. May hold off playing again til the update.

Alot of these mods, including the hd texture stuff, was done by the community for pc i believe. I think charging would be a much worse sign.

Still takes a ton of effort to fully implement. I'll obviously take my free upgrade, but I would have violently thrown $9.99 at them without a second thought

Just happy it's finally coming out, i was scared when the ukraine stuff went down and they said it might be cancelled. Looking forward to another playthough and hitting all the expansions i've not seen yet.

Just dropping back in because I'm watching some Witcher youtube videos and getting pretty geeked out over this update. Hell, even getting a little giddy about replaying 1 when it gets re-released, even though I've already said I probably wouldn't get it

Same. I finished the GOW: Ragnarok yesterday so I'll spend some time 100% everything and will be ready for 12/14.
