It all makes sense now.

But I think it is. You had people doing the same with the PS3 since it only has 256MB of dedicated RAM (512MB shared). People got around it.

Most of the optimization involved in the PS3 was in getting the most out of the Cell processor, which was very hard to work with (Though the memory was an issue). The Wii U isn't particularly hard to develop for. I don't doubt that they will get some power out of it, but don't expect too much.

So because I play a single game (which is critically acclaimed and takes up a small proportion of my gaming time) my opinion is invalidated What terrible games do you play?

I'm only expecting a few notches ahead of Ps3 and 360. Probably more things actually running at HD resolutions rather than all of the upscales we've seen this generation.

Yes, crazy Ken made the PS3 super difficult to work around.

It's hardly an optimization issue at this point. The Wii U processor is worse than the processor of a 7 year-old game console.

You should probably look up GPGPU.

I know what a GPGPU is. That doesn't change the reality of the situation. The GPU is at best slightly better than the 360's and better than the PS3's. The processor is at best as good as the 360's and worse than the PS3's. Regardless of whether the GPU can take on CPU functions the hardware is not remotely next gen.

but it's safe to say that more and more evidence is placing Wii U alongside Xbox 360 and PS3 versus a drastic leap over the current generation. Developers are definitely coming to terms with what Nintendo's new system will be capable of, but it's also clear that Nintendo's divergent approach has once again focused on finding innovation in control and software versus attempting to compete in terms of raw power. As Marcan concluded, "...don't compare [Wii U] clock per clock with a 360 and claim it's much worse. It isn't."

It is squarely last gen tech.

Oh I play COD too. But the fact that you knock on Nintendo's exclusives like Mario Party, makes me curious of what other games you like.

It probably sucks. Unless you like using a throwing motion to throw it, and I don't.

I imagine it's controlled entirely with the tablet. You would think using it as a playbook/audibles would be fun and a no brainer.

Not much point in putting out a game that released in July on a console launching in November. Madden got released because it's far more popular than NCAA. I'm sure NCAA 14 will be on Wii U.
