KCD first. By far the most immersive of the bunch.

Why does this board hate rdr2 so much?
Posted on 3/17/20 at 12:36 pm to kingbob
I liked it. The main gripe I hear is the slow pace. It’s not a game that’s entirely friendly to people who have kids and a job and can only play for 30 min or an hour every few days.

That’s a legit criticism. I felt the same way the first time I tried picking it up

The ones that hate it are that much more likely to MAKE SURE you know they hate it. I loved RDR2 and there's a good chance I play it through again sometime soon. I'm in no huge rush to play HZD again but that playthrough was a ton of fun.
I've never played Black Flags (on my list) or Kingdom Come but it looks cool. Horizon's visuals were incredible so I'd put that first, RDR2 second, Black Flags 3rd, KCD fourth.

I'm mid 20's with no kids and I agree it's really slow.
It's almost too realistic and good that it's hard to play, if that makes any sense.

I liked it too. Took me 61 hours to beat. But I'm 32 and single. Didn't even really try to do things like hunting/fishing but I did do just about every side encounter I came across and those that appeared on the map. In one run I have 80% completion of the entire game.

You should give it a try dude. It isn’t made by some huge AAA studio, and it does a really fricking good job of immersing you in the world. It should be pretty cheap by now.
The hardcore mode is legit the hardest game I’ve ever played but it was so much fun.
Hell, I might replay it now that I’ve been talking about it so much.

Have you played Origins?

Origins made me do a deep dive into Egyptology and really made me wish I was an 1800s treasure hunter in Egypt

LSU Coyote is on a mission to DV every positive post about RDR2. It's kind of sad.

I really want to get into Red Dead, but I have limited gaming time every night. I get it's immersiveness (don't know how that's spelled........if it's a word) is appealing, but when I start a mission to drive a wagon to town and I know it's going to take me close to 30 minutes to get there, it's easy to get put off.
