What to do with old video game collection?

Over the years I've collected hundreds (ok maybe not hundreds, but a lot ) of games for the NES, SNES, N64, PS1, PS2, XBOX, etc etc.
There are some games I wish to keep because they are personal favorites. Not so incidentally these are also some of the better games of the collection. I never intended to collect them, but over 30 years they just accumulated. So what to do with the rest?
I'll start with sentimental favorites (you can click on the pictures to go to a larger more detailed pic)
NES
SNES
N64
PS1
PS2
PS Misc
XBOX
360 (I have more but I couldn't find them and its late)
Misc Gameboy
Gamegear
3DO

I'll be happy to haul them away for you.

Trade in to GameStop for $3. Or sell them on eBay. Or keep them for your future kids... if you plan to have any.

Depends on the system.
In general, I would say to do mixed lots on eBay.
A copy of Airwolf on NES alone may not be worth selling due to the hassle.
A lot of 5-10 games including Airwolf may sell because someone wants one game out of the set and is willing to buy shite mixed in with it to get it OR they just see a good value on a lot of old games if they aren't picky about game quality.

What do you have that you are willing to part with?
Are most of the older games just the cartridges or do you have things like the instructions and boxes?

I'm a bit of a collector as well, and I'm not sure what I'll do with the games once I decide to get rid of them. Lots of them have some great memories that I'll hold onto so I'm not sure if I'll be selling anytime soon.
I do HIGHLY recommend creating an account on pricecharting to keep track of the value of your collection.

I'm sure if you took a picture or made a list somebody on here would take them off your hands, or ya know....ebay

That only really works for the prize pieces of a collection.
The average games common for a system? Not getting much for them unless you package them correctly or there is a big run on specific titles for some reason.
For example, I have a ton of Atari 2600 games including duplicates.
The main collection could probably get a lot because there’s some pretty rare stuff in there like the Starpath Supercharger and some of the cassette tapes for it as well as a lot of games from the tail end of the system’s life in the late 80s / early 90s, which had low print runs compared to its heyday before the 1983 video game crash.
The duplicates? A few odd games in there are worth something like Pitfall 2 but the big value would be putting together an “Atari starter kit” with a system, two joysticks, one set of paddles, and the 30+ extra games I have.

I'll make a list, take some pics later tonight. No PC games, I had a large PC hiatus from my Tandy 1000 until about 2015.

If they aren't taking up too much space, just keep them.
Collecting old video games and systems has become quite a booming hobby the last decade and it may just continue to grow in popularity.

3DO...wow there's a name I haven't heard in a while. Wanted one real bad when it came out but my mom wasn't ever forking over the cash for it.

I see hundreds was an exaggeration lol. Makes me want to post my collection.
That said, I'm interested in Threads of Fate and Castlevania: Lament of Innocence.

I know I have a few more. There are certain games like Mario 3 and Megaman 2 I know I have but didn't find.
Feel free to let your interest be known. But I'll probably think it over and discuss with my brothers before doing anything.

I'd be interested in any NES cartridges left over that everyone else doesn't want. I'm planning on making a wall mural for my game room with old Nintendo cartridges.

You could sell them to eStarland.com or get store credit for some other games.
Their trade in values are much better than Gamestop.
