Just dropping in to say 9 is the GOAT. Would love a remake to fix some of it's issues, like slow gameplay. But you can mostly mod that out.
But after the 7 remake, I would maybe rather them not.
I doubt they would mess with Ito's work like that though.

FF7 Remake part 1 had the worst fricking possible name because it is in fact a sequel lol. 9 is like 1/100000000 as well known as 7. Most gamers know who aerith is and she dies 2/5 through the game. Not mamny know vivi and his journey. I think a 1 for 1 story do up using a modified remake combat engine would slap. Quinna would have to be changed to prevent game urnalist if theyre jobs havent been cut from rioting.

And again this IS coming in some form. and not a week ff8 remaster. That leak hasnt been wrong once.
I have a lot of cool as frick ideas they can turn trance from worst part of the game to the best and not just traditional limits.
Something like perfect guarding from yuffies DLC to build it up so it doesnt just fighting a lvl 2 dog or a meter building it, zidanes would include comboing knife moves, etc

Depends if its in the vein of remake and rebirth which i just couldnt see how with that on going talks of 10-3 FF14 wanting to relaunch FF11 lol. I would say 70% like memoria project go watch it if you havent

Rather an 8 remake instead of 9.
9 is one of my least favorites but I’d still day one a remake.
10-3…I donno..I’m open to the idea…only if the story is good and worth it. Just don’t know what more they could do. X-2 has substance but it was just a little too kawaii.
X-2 combats was great and the best part of the game. The story wasn’t bad it was just missing the memorable characters.

It wouldn't be horrible if they remade it in the FF7 remake style but I would be disappointed. I hope, like you said, they are too busy to give it that treatment and don't reinvent the wheel.

I'd prefer a FF6 remake personally. Or 4 even, although it did get the DS remake which wasn't bad imo. 6 is right up there with 7 and 9 for me.

FF8(GOAT. Not even a comparison. Best story and second best characters. Squall and Siefer made this game. Also Gunblade is iconic)
FF6/3( second best story and best characters by far. Kefka is still the best Antagonist in video game history.)
FF4/2 (Kain,Cecil,Rosa triangle with the story focusing on your own light/dark side)
FFX(Underwater soccer. Story was iffy at best but graphics sold it for me)
Anything else is tossed in the "meh" pile. Last FF I played more than an hour was XIII and that story was complete shite with awful characters. Killed the franchise for me.
