I don’t remember the supply of new consoles bing this short during the last release of new consoles. When will they be easily available?

It’s always a pain in the arse.

Got a series X and have found myself playing old games with game pass ultimate more than anything. Glad I have it but could have lived with my One X.

Dunno. I'm still waiting to get the XBox All Access deal so I haven't even been checking. I'm sure that won't be available again till there is plenty of supply.

Ever since PS2, it seems to always be some bullshite upon launch.

Seems like they would learn or consumers would learn. Annoys me to see some a-hole with 20+ consoles on ebay going for 3 x price.

I've been content with the NeoGeo and re-discovering old games again

It was still slim pickens in January of 2014.

It is a mixture of not producing enough to hype demand and the ease of resale on the Internet.

There will be plenty by the time there is actual next gen games though.

Flight Sim is probably the first true next gen game coming to Xbox this summer. PS first true next gen game will probably be some weird single player game with tentacle porn.

Xbox hype is already dying down so people should easily be able to pick up one soon, PS5 on the other hand...

Sony is selling more PS5s than any of it's previous consoles.
This does not answer your question, but it is a unique situation. I cannot believe Sony expected this. They should have.

I got a PS5 and agree about not really needing it right now. My original plan was to get one when Horizon 2 or God of War 2 came out, but I got lucky and was able to get one.

This. I've spent more time playing backlogged PS4 games on it than PS5 games...

They have, and they have perfected their launches. This drums up incredible hype and publicity, and it creates a need for people to get these consoles. They are fine with the black market sellers, because once they fully launch with no limitations their sales will be flooded.

It's all by design, because we are sheeple. See Popeyes fried chicken sandwich for most recent example
