Not being mad about it being in a 20 second clip of a video game doesn't mean someone supports BLM.

In RDR2 they had the KKK and that didn't upset me either. I still believe in artistic license for creators tho. Maybe you think everything should be PC or regulated as to not offend anyone.

Context is everything and the context within the game is supportive of BLM.

So you think it's positive and productive to teach black children that they are always victims, that they can never truly achieve because the mean, old, white people are always oppressing them? That anything they do achieve, therefore, is only because someone white allowed them to?

Or have you even thought about it at all?

I don't know if it's positive or productive at all. It isn't aimed at me so it really doesn't matter what I think. Enlighten me since you apparently know what it's like to grow up as a black kid in America.

I've never played this game, but I 100% knew what this thread would say before I opened it up.

Perhaps you should at least look into it before making comments about it.

Why? I don't live in new york nor do I have any say on how their city is governed. I see that the game creator just wanted to throw a modern new york easter egg into the game to make it feel more current. they have this in new york in real life, so its not like they threw in something that doesn't exist IRL.

I play to experience what the person who wrote the game is trying to portray, not to have them cater to me. I enjoyed the last of us 2 also

It doesn't affect me at all like it does you apparently. I'm not a political activist, I'm a gamer. Words don't hurt me. They could put "sgallo go frick yourself with a giant dildo you hoe arse POS" and I'd still play the game

Why?

Why should you look into something before commenting about it?

I haven't taken a stance on if black lives matter is good or not, thats you. My stance is that I'm fine with the person who CREATED THE GAME putting what THEY want in it.

Did you read up on Greek mythology and make sure you agreed with it all before you played God of War? Haha it's a damn video game.

I'm really anti-Nazis and have played a lot of video games that featured them

I don't see how this is so hard for you to understand.

Perhaps you should at least go to the boards designated for discussing politics before discussing politics.

If this is your stance, then you should be angrier than anyone about injecting specific, divisive, modern-day political groups into video games and painting them in a positive (or negative) light.

Because when that happens, it is appropriate to talk about that on a gaming board.

Centrist fence sitters and mindless pop culture enthusiasts getting upset about talking politics when literally everything is political these days is a weird flex, to be sure.

Can spider man 2 feature Peter Parker wearing a MAGA cap? I’m sure that will receive a measured response.

Also, in a universe where wakanda exists, why even bother with New York? Clearly it’s a terrible place if BLM murals need to go up. Go to the promised land, Miles!

I didn’t program the game, nor did I start the thread.

Also, I didn’t make you click on it.

Why are you torturing yourself?

This is ironic, because these things are only in video games because of the sky-screaming left. These things definitely don't sell games.

its not when the collection of forums we are at has a special board for politics.

this should be a place to escape from the over injection of politics into everything. why would anyone feel the need to bring it here.

the discussion moved away from should it be in the game to if it is a good entity or not. they are no longer talking about games.

No one on this board injected politics into this game. If it is in the game, then it is appropriate to be discussed on a gaming board.

If you don't like that, then you should also be railing against gaming developers for doing this.

You don't think this is relevant to if something should, or should not, be painted in a positive light in entertainment?

If a game came out and painted Nazis in a positive light, do you think that would be irrelevant to discussion about that game?
