I had never even heard of this until Twitter began making fun of it.

It's a 3 hour long visual novel with optional quick time events that have no impact on anything that actually happens. I'm not sure how this could even be considered a "game"

Theater kids have ruined gaming.

Before anything else the strange animation of the characters instantly kills it for me.

This 3 hour long glorified visual novel got the same score from IGN as Red Dead Redemption 2.

I saw the thumbnail on Gamepass and immediately assumed it was an LGBT game, like Lost Record or Last of Us 2..

Then i saw IGN gave it a 10, I was 100% sure it was an LGBT game.

First I saw of the gameplay was the above tweet, and now I don't care if it is an lgbt, anti-lgbt, or whatever. . .it definitely isn't a game.

IGN gave Crimson Desert a 6/10

And Veilguard a 9/10

I am trying to figure out how RDR2 got 10/10

I don't remember it being super gay? Did I miss a storyline?

I don't know who actually uses IGN for anything at this point. Other than streamers clicking on IGN to mock them in the stream.

Who is paying their bills? They can't actually make any money. Every good game gets a 7. Every woke pile of crap a 9 or 10.

A review hating a game because there is too much violent shooting. A review where the moron reviewing the game admits to hating the genre but somehow they were given the job to review the game.

I think the last time I looked at their site was 8 years ago and I had played the game they were reviewing and based on my gameplay, I could tell they did not play the game or if they did, they played for 5 minutes.

Probably a liberal NGO funding them as part of their media propaganda

I mean, that illuminates a ton

I typed "Ziff Davis Political Endorsement"

Google AI says

quote:

Ziff Davis, Inc. typically focuses on corporate, LGBTQ+, and DEI initiatives rather than direct candidate endorsements, with OpenSecrets data showing no reported federal lobbying for the 2024 cycle. The company has signed the Human Rights Campaign's Business Statement against anti-LGBTQ+ legislation and supports the Equality Act, along with CEOs for Gun Safety.

Key details regarding Ziff Davis and political activity include:

LGBTQ+ Advocacy: The company signed the Human Rights Campaign's Business Statement on Anti-LGBTQ State Legislation and the Texas Competes Pledge, opposing restrictive legislation.

Political Contributions: Records show limited, overwhelmingly Democratic-leaning employee/PAC donations in past cycles, with very low total amounts.

Social & Corporate Policy: Ziff Davis supports initiatives on DEI, anti-racism, and gun safety.

Note: The 1792 Exchange profile indicates the company has taken positions opposing various state-level legislative proposals on parental rights and gendered spaces

Not that I’m doubting the return, but the “very low total amounts” bit piqued my curiosity as to what your question prompt was. Was it a general prompt, or was it specifically targeted towards progressive type causes?

I was just curious, as the turn seemed very fixated on the social issues. For funsies, I gave Google the same prompt, and this is what it returned. Similar, but with a different emphasis:

Based on available data, Ziff Davis Inc. does not make direct political endorsements or contributions to federal candidates, according to OpenSecrets.Key findings regarding Ziff Davis's political activity:No Direct Political Contributions: Data from the 2024 election cycle indicates that Ziff Davis LLC did not make direct contributions to congressional or federal candidates. No Federal Lobbying: As of 2024, the company has not reported lobbying the federal government.Corporate Advocacy: While not endorsing specific candidates, Ziff Davis has engaged in policy-related actions, including:Signing the Human Rights Campaign's Business Statement on Anti-LGBTQ State Legislation.Supporting the Texas Competes Pledge.Signing on to the CEOs for Gun Safety initiative.Company Policy: Ziff Davis has formally adopted Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives.Editorial Policy (PCMag):PCMag, a key brand owned by Ziff Davis, has previously stated in its opinion pieces that it does not endorse candidates for president.

AI results vary

I typed that exact thing and I posted the first results from Google AI.

Was anything presented by me incorrect, or are you just upset at what it suggests?

I can help with the former, but not with the latter

Neither

Your return seemed extremely narrow, so I was curious whether your prompt or your search history had an impact on the return. You used a fairly general prompt, so that was eliminated. And while your google search history likely had an impact on how the information was framed and emphasized in your return, the fact that my return included roughly the same information, albeit with a different emphasis, seems to favor it being at least reasonably accurate

Did it again, screenshots below

Included my search history, to show that is the only phrase I searched:

I didn’t mean that you had other search queries immediately preceding it, and I certainly wasn’t implying that you had intentionally gamed the search. However, I assume that, say, over the last year, you have googled the LGBTQ and/or DEI stances of companies infinitely more times than I have (my number likely being zero), which could influence the type of return Google gives you. Or maybe not. Was just a theory as to why your return seemed to emphasize that aspect more heavily than mine, in spite of identical queries

I thought you were referring to the game's publisher, which was founded by Larry Ellison's daughter.

The company has backing from one of the world's richest men, so figured that's one of the main components of the 10/10 reviews.
