Mostly physical, because digital causes issues between myself and the kids across multiple switches. Although the new game sharing feature should fix that.

I get digital when I can because I hate having to get up and go across the room to change games. Usually I've got a sleepy puppy in my lap.

I'm store only preorders are actually very smart. Much harder for scalpers and they are hoping people in the store will inevitably make random impulse purchases while there.

Is it really? That too seems insane. Feels like a $40 or $50 kind of thing. After there cheaper aftermarket joycons for Switch1 like the aftermarket pro controller knockoffs?

There are aftermarket Switch 1 joycons as cheap as $20-25 a pair. But quality is a major drop off.

I mean the orginal joycons are POS. You might as well just get the cheaper versions because they break anyway. The pro controller will be the move

I find that the Hori Split Pad works great if you are using the Switch in handheld mode. I’ve had those on it for years and no Joycon drift, unlike my stock Nintendo ones.
Downside is that they can’t be used in any other mode, which makes them incompatible with some games.

Right now, I'm leaning towards Walmart's guaranteed delivery by 9am on launch day. The whole midnight thing could be fun in a world where they don't do that for movies any longer, but I may be too damned old to pull that off.
I just don't understand how there's no details on Amazon's preorders, and/or why Nintendo's own direct presales aren't coming out until 2 weeks after third party retailers.

No motion/tilt support is a killer. I have the Hori set but rarely if ever use it.
Although, now that I think about it, BOTW/TOTK & Splatoon are the only games I play on there that use them on the regular.

Yeah, I have about $350+ accumulated in Amazon credit via that 6% cash back given when you don't get a Prime delivery ASAP. I may use that to get the accessories/games.
I added the haul to the Walmart wishlist. I'd really rather not deal with Best Buy and I'm sure as hell not going to bother with Gamestop.

The kind of stuff I play tends to be more retro gaming stuff like shmups as well as strategy games, neither of which really benefit from motion.

I've been using my Pro controller more lately because I've put my Switch in an articulating cup-holder mount so it can stay plugged in.
LIke this, in case anyone was curious. I highly recommend it, since my wife is usually playing her Switch docked, connected to the TV:
