Is it any worse than your average ubisoft pc port?

Second time I've seen them allude to the fact that these folks with issues are somehow just a small minority.

Even in bad Ubisoft ports, the games still looked better than console and were mostly playable (but the generally boringness of Ubisoft games amplifies the technical issues). From what I've read, Arkham Knight on PC is literally missing textures and certain lighting effects, still doesn't run well on high-end hardware, and looks objectively worse than console versions. Plus the 30fps cap.

They care so much about that .001% who are having issues that they won't let anyone else buy the game

They knew it was shipping in this state. It's what happens when you don't bring in people who can properly port to PC, and they still had the balls to sell all of their grotesque DLC and stupid pre-order bonuses to PC players.

It's a little true though, if you tweak the settings in the ini folder and enable a lot of the stuff they disabled for whatever reason such as MSAA, unlock the FPS, and change the textures from 1 to 2 to enable high settings, enable openGL, it makes a massive overall difference.

Sucks that you have to enable settings manually, but it works and makes the game considerably better.

If a player has to do all that, that's unacceptable

I just think WB feeling like they have to stop selling the game says a lot about the human condition.

People should research a product before they buy it, and a company shouldn't stoop to refusing to sell you a product based on how poorly it performs.

I saw a tweet that the game dropped dramatically in sales already. I think the market was speaking so they reacted.

Yeah unfortunately, I don't have first-hand experience to really see how the game looks and how the ini file tweaks affect things. But while any of us have no issue fricking around in config files (I consider yet another perk of PC gaming ), I argue that people who do that are still in the minority of PC gamers, and the majority consists of people who fall into one or more of three categories: 1) can't run the game at all, 2) suffering the performance issues and bad graphics, or 3) blissfully unaware/just dealing with it because Batman is awesome.

WB or Rocksteady has also gone on record to recommend that users don't mess around in the ini file. They basically say turn all the good shite off and then you'll get 30fps.

That's one of the more retarded things I've read today.

Why? That doesn't mean they shouldn't fix the game, and you're going to have people who want to purchase the game even after reading about all the technical problems.

The fact that the company put out a broken product is the fault of the developers, but the purchasing said broken product is the fault of the consumer.

I understand full well why they're doing it though.

Especially on launch day. There was so much info out there about the locked frame rate and missing textures. This is really on the PCers that expected a finished product.

Nothing wrong with expecting a finished product, and this is just a gesture of good faith to show they won't accept money for the product until the issues are resolved.

The flip side of that is no one is holding a gun to anyone's head forcing someone to buy a game on launch day, and even so, a day is plenty of time to receive feedback on a game. I bought AC Unity on launch day, and I spent all day at work before I bought the game reading about the numerous bugs and glitches on all three platforms.

This is why some people are so against pre-ordering games. Lets see how well the game is received by both critics and gamers alike before we rush to the store to purchase the product.

I wonder if NVIDIA is still going to give away Arkham Knight keys during this suspension.

Users are bitching at nvidia on their forums about Batman.

Wasn't there a study that suggested gamers have above average intelligence?
