I liked hand cannons in Year 1, but my favorite was Scout rifles. I couldn't stand auto rifles until I got AAC. It has the stability for precision shots like a scout. But can go full auto when needed.

Hawkmoon is good but it's not like it was before the handcannon nerf.

What about PVE though? I am planning PVE instead of PVP as I love my Messenger on damage controlled game types

Still good. The range still isn't what it was but it will do well. I have been leaning towards pule rifles in PvE lately.

No, but it's a lot easier to make it shoot a few rounds at a time than other auto rifles I've used. It'll shoot one-three rounds if you just tap the trigger. Hold the trigger down and it's full auto. The biggest plus to it over other autos is the stability helps it stay on target instead of bouncing around all over the place.
