How is the joystick not loose to the point of unplayability?

Hell I still have my original NES and controllers and it works perfectly. Other than it looking like utter shite on my 65” TVs, the experience is perfection

When I fired mine up recently, the cords weren’t working too well, so I had to do an old school trick with some chapstick on the plugs and then it worked like a charm.

Kids these days won’t know the struggle

Same, including the original gold controller that came with the Goldeneye bundle

Haha nope. And I’ve never been particularly rough on my controllers. Joysticks have some play, but they aren’t bad.

I always wondered why I didn't have the joystick problem with most of my N64 controllers. I guess this is why.

Tug of war on Mario party could easily frick up your joystick in one sitting.

Wish I still had my old NES, Genesis, and SNES. I didn't take those with me when I went off to undergrad, so I assume they didn't survive a purge at some point.

Replacing that 80 pin connector is the key

Same. Still use the original controllers too. It’s really the only console I still play. The replay value of games like Ocarina of Time and Super Mario 64 are unmatched.

Agreed. I haven't played star fox 64 in years. My buddy had the switch with that n64 controller and I played that game. I beat the game like I had played it for years. Could not believe how much I remembered. Amazing. Made me realize I should really think about buying a switch.
