Best one IMO. Clutch again against big enemies.
Even though Mipha and the flight one are used more.

Mrs. Breesus was watching me play after I got it.
I ran into a run of the mill bokoblin and I had a spear.
So I charged it up and stabbed him about 10 times while he was electrocuted and screaming and then the spear broke and exploded and he want flying off a cliff.
She thought that was a little intense for a Zelda game. I was jumping and up and down laughing.

So what's the consensus on this game?
Is it worth buying a switch for?
I've played and enjoyed a few Zelda games but not a hardcore fan. Watching gameplay it looks like they took concepts from some of the other big name games which are popular today and threw a Zelda skin on it. Am I off base here? Not saying it's a bad thing.
Also, is there much of a storyline? The game comes off looking like a nostalgia trip.

My wife refuses to be in the room when I play because of all the grunts and weird noises the NPC's make. Drives her crazy.

Second best Zelda behind OoT. It's absolutely phenomenal if you like Zelda games. And it's a great game in its own right if you like Nintendo.

Zelda and Mario Kart 8 are more than worth the purchase of the Switch.

Yes. Very.

I just cannot understand why they made every female orgasm when they talk. And not subtley at all. It's slutty screaming fake orgasm every time. That's the only one that bothers me. I can't play with the sound on depending on where I am.

I'd say it's better than Majora's Mask, which I have thought is the greatest game ever made. I really want a reimagining of Majora's Mask on Breath of the Wild's engine given how well Termina lends itself to non-linearity.

Yeah, the best since Wind Walker easily.

MM was my second favorite Zelda game until Botw those and OoT are my top 3. MM updated and redone for the Switch would be awesome.

And to new players, I encourage you this: go to Hyrule Castle after you beat your first Divine Beast. Do not wait, because Hyrule Castle is nowhere near as epic as if you wait when you're incredibly powerful. It's best if you first go there and be killed on a whim. There's lots to do there and your risks of going there are rewarded. Don't go after Calamity Ganon yet, but definitely go after the castle itself.

frick you Deku tree. You suck. Got me so excited about the master sword only to rip it from my finger tips. And then he laughed.
SPOILERS
I really wish I knew about the need for heart containers. I spent every damn spirit orb on maxing out my stamina and now I have to go hunt who knows how many more orbs to get the swords. They should've let you get it with either stamina or hearts.
I will say the Korok trials are the most fun I've had in this game since the Yiga clan hideout.

There is a way you can trade out your stamina and heart gauges....

There's a place you can trade out heart containers and stamina wheels for each other FYI

The fact that that exists and Deku didn't tell me about it makes him that much more of an a-hole

Just started the trials. Made it to the 9th floor and got speared and started over. What's the deal with this? How many levels and are there any save points at all?
Pretty dumb to take away your armor too. That's a real pain in the arse.

How does it compare to making your weapons break if you hold them the wrong way?

The trials break out into 3 main sections. I forget their names but it's basically beginning, middle and final. Each of those sections has anywhere from 12-18 levels. Around the half-way point of each section, you'll come to a rest area with some chests and other goodies to loot as well as a cooking pot.
There are no save points while you are going through a given section. However, once you complete that section, you're whisked out and back to the spot where the Master Sword resides. You can save there and go to the next section.
I got the first two sections done fairly easily. But the last one was a PITA. A couple days ago, I made it around the 10th room before getting creamed. There's rooms with a dozen bokoblin horse archers in it. I figure I'll get back to it soon. I just got frustrated getting killed by enemies I should be wiping the floor with. The trials really accentuate how gear-driven the combat system is in BOTW.

Kind of SPOILERish, so consider yourself warned.
Some tips for the Master Trials:
1. If you don't have your hearts maxed out, but you have a lot of stamina, swap that stamina out for more hearts. You really don't do much climbing in the trials, so stamina's not that important.
2. You can't bring food into the trials either, but you CAN start the trials with whatever food buff you just ate prior to entering the trials. I'd recommend cooking up a 30 minute, 3x defense dish, and just before entering the trials, eating and saving the game.
3. Get GREAT at using the shield parry for Guardian beams. That skill is going to be very, very important throughout the trials.
4. Compared to the rest of the game, arrows are abundant in the trials. Don't worry about running out of arrows unless you have a problem landing headshots. Keep in mind you can use stasis before shooting if you need extra time to aim.
5. Your bombs come in handy throughout most of the trials. Don't forget to use them to save some of your weapons and keep enemies at distance. There are also quite a few metal crates, so use them to take out enemies as well.
6. Each trial grouping has a woodcutter's axe on the first or second level. Keep that weapon on reserve instead of using it on enemies.
7. After clearing out the enemies on each level, scour the floor for resources before moving on to the next floor. Turn on your shiekah sensor to treasure chests. Climb trees to look for eggs. Use that woodcutter's axe to bust open wooden crates and barrels. Use magnesis to lift up and drop those metal crates for more stuff. Search for any weapons left behind by enemies. Those random mushrooms and fruits from crates are going to be huge for cooking at the resting spots in the trials, so try not to eat them raw unless you really think you need that extra bit of health.
8. You'll occasionally get some elemental weapons. Save them. When the times comes, you'll know when to use them. Also, use your weaker bows on weaker enemies (duh). Especially skull enemies since they can all be taken out by a single headshot with your weakest bows.
9. In the rest stops, you might run into some fairies. Be super patient and make sure you catch them all... and don't cook them into dishes. You never know when you're going to slip up and need that automatic revive.
10. Have a general idea about what combinations you can use in cooking to create what dishes. In the rest stops, the fish in the pond will give you a general idea of what you're going to run into in the next bunch of floors. Cook your dishes to include those buffs that you're probably going to need.
11. Be slow. Be patient. Draw out enemies one at a time if possible. Use your arrows, bombs, and shiekah slate powers to take out enemies from a distance as often as you can. The trials are much, much easier than you'd think if you just relax and take your time.
As for the trials in master mode... LOL good luck with that.

So I breezed through the beginning trials pretty easily. On the middle set I was going pretty good and on the last one the Gaurdian IV had about 5% health left and he caught me slipping.
I almost threw the controller I was so mad.
