BOTW was to great to skip.. I'd start there.

I just don't get it. It's like Nintendo watched a bunch of Youtube videos of all the cool physics tricks players figured out how to do in BotW and decided to make a game out of it, re-using a frick load of assets from BotW and charging $70. Everyone fawns over it like it's an evolution in gaming.

Big open, empty world with no content. Oh look a shrine. I wonder what could be in there. Oh look a puzzle! Rinse repeat, kill Ganon, the end.

Mild spoiler.....

The horses you had in BOTW are boarded in this one. That was a pleasant surprise, considering you lost everything else.

Horse riding was useless in the first game. He can stay boarded for all I care.

I caved and purchased, played a few hours last night. I'll admit I groaned a bit at first when I would grab a stick, 4 whacks, pick up another, but when I found the shrine that gives you the fuse ability and I joined the sword with the boulder and used this goofy looking weapon to pulverize a stone wall....I literally laughed out loud. That was all right.

Is the green lights appearing over the second third shrines for you? Or IIRC some are hidden and can only be found using the scope? I haven't found FUSE yet. I have found pants. So no more eating spicy pepper foods in the cold.

I think fuse will change everything. Also I didn't know the glider things work w/o attaching fans-- by just placing them on the rails.

After I did the shrine by the Temple of Time that unlocked the attach ability, ghost dude had me pull out the slate and place markers on the other 2 shrines in the area.

In terms of the rail, as cool as it looks, using 2 hooks with the platform doesn't work that well. I'd put it on the rail and it would just sit there. One hook and it started sliding down instantly.

Thanks, maybe I need to go back and talk to the ghost dude. I don't remember doing this to mark the other shrines.

Yeah, just putting the hook on the cable line then attaching a board worked in this beginning shrine.

I am going willy nilly and ended up way high up w/o pants and the only way down was placing this on the double rail. walking right and left from the middle controlling motion.

I spotted a shrine blind and marked it but it only shows in the scope. (Obviously somehow not getting 2 of the shrines marked w/ a green light or anything.

So this is what has been so cool to read and play. I did it totally different. I fused the 3 boulders together and made a bridge over

The new abilities really forces you to pay attention to your surroundings. I had a few instances where I thought an item was out of reach but came back when I realized I could build a bridge or ramp to it

you should put *Possible Spoilers* in the thread title so no one gets butt hurt. (there is always one)

As crazy as this will sound, so far, it feels like botw was a beta for this.

They really have perfected this formula

One thing that's going to be hard for me to remember is when you pick an item to fuse with an arrow, once you select it Link will fire. I've wasted a few because I wasn't already aiming at what I was going for.

Did the fuse system alleviate your concerns with the durability system?

If its going to work like I'm understanding it will, I think it definitely will. I can see myself finding a sword I like and then finding the right fuse item and just farming that a bit to build a good stockpile. Then it's a matter of switching it out with another one before it breaks.

Another aspect of the durability system that was frustrating was going with a small sword that had quick slashes and then being forced to go to a two handed weapon that was a lot slower. At least allow me to continue to play how I prefer

I found a cave and got a shirt. I am now no longer nakid & afraid

Found the FUSE shrine. I arrived with a shitty sword (some octopus monster in a cave sucked up my best weapon and shield)

BTW: I am digging the flowers you have to strike to light up caves...

Now I have a rock on my sword and shitty shield I had. Busted through the shrine wall, bishes!

Now on to figure out how to open the main shrine door.
