I, too have been focusing on the underworld exploration.
Ditto for the areas in the Depths identified as Mines. In addition to a gear chest, there's also a heavy Zoanite deposit that looks like it's blocking a cave entrance nearby. You can dispatch that with two bomb flowers and there's a huge pile of ore left behind, in addition to other deposits in the vicinity.

That's the Shrine, outside of the ones where they take all of your equipment, that gave me the most problems. I think I created a paddleboat to get the orb up the track.

Are the special regional weapons worth it? It’s a pretty steep price to pay to get them crafted. 3 diamonds for each one. Has anyone done it? I refuse to do the dupe glitch

The Goron one definitely is, especially for smashing rocks.
Btw, you don't even have to use a glitch to fix it. Once they warn you about breaking, drop it then attach it to a regular weapon. Then go to death mountain and drop the fused weapon in front of an octorock and they'll fix it and spit it out. Then the Goron in Tarrey town can separate it for you. Super easy and not technically cheating lol. Plus saves you 3 diamonds and hunting down the weapon they need to make it.

There’s a version you can make just like all the others. Gerudo scimitar, Zora spear and goron hammer I guess. Haven’t been there yet

I guess they aren't now that you mention it, but I had to make the Gerudo set to get a picture of the shield.

I also went back to the Great Sky Island from the start of the game now that I have a lot more of the play mechanics down. It's good to stock up on Fire Fruit and the initial construct parts left over after one-shotting them.

I have not seen any explanation yet, but I'm hoping they fill that bit in, as I was about to start looking at the last place Link saw it when it disappeared.

I randomly decided to do the quest line that got me the sword fairly early in the game. Luck of the draw more than anything and definitely has made the weapon system more tolerable
