Simply Put: Every Character From every Smash Bros. Ever.

Ice Climbers, Pichu, Wolf all back.

LINK

Snake!

Annndddd....

Ridley.

No promo photos yet. And it is essentially SSB 4.5. A "sequel" in name only. Which is probably ok by me, the engine for 4 was great.

It doesn’t look like the same engine for 4 but Zelda’s design is GREAT.

Said we shouldnt expect many new characters and people are pitching a fit. How people can be pissed at not having 100s of characters in a fighting game is beyond me

I saw the title of the trailer "Everyone is here" and thought, "Nice, but not everyone. You're not bringing Snake baaa...I guess I need to shut up now."

This is a definite purchase for me. Will make a great Christmas present for my son this year. He still asks me to play Smash on Wii U with him and we (thankfully) never bought the DLC for that version.

Zelda and Wolf look like great upgrades. And I love the new QoL features - Pockets for Villager, the new Shulk selector, etc.

Lots of changes to characters and some game mechanics, though. Think their goal was to speed things up a bit. It should play like Smash 4, but faster.

Really depends on what the single player looks like whether it is a sequel or an enhanced edition.

I dont think I would really call it an enhanced edition with the changing of mechanics. It isnt even like they just combined the Smash 4 DLC. It looks pretty hype. Strange thought I had during the Smash showing but how hype would a Battle Royale(in the wrestling sense) in Smash be?

Also directional air dodging, which could imply wavedashing is back (prob slower than how it was in Melee though). I doubt many techs like that are in this game, but a man can dream.

The only thing that worries me is the ledge mechanics returning from Sm4sh (from what I saw in Nintendo Treehouse thus far). Was not a fan of the fact that you could hold onto a ledge just for someone to come and steal it from you. Kind of defeats the purpose of the ledge-guarding in smash.

This is the best possible way to port the game to Switch. All the characters and redone stages. I'll wait for a sale as I hardly Smash Wii U and the only characters I want to play that were missing are fairly minor.

The rumor is 8 new characters, which is fine for me. If Simon Belmont is in it I’ll shite my pants.
