I would have rathered him over Ridley, but Ridley is a huge win for the fans.
The echo characters are finally a good way to handle alternative costumes. They should have relegated a few characters like Lucas to that though.

Any guess on new Echo characters? My guesses:
Dry Bowser for Bowser
Donkey Kong Jr for Donkey Kong
Chrom for Ike
Bandana Waddle Dee for Kirby (uses a spear instead of absorbing enemies)
Zero for Mega Man
Alph for Olimar
Ken for Ryu (this better be one)
Dark Samus for Samus
Impa (Skyward Sword) for Sheik
Liquid Snake for Snake
Shadow for Sonic
Isabelle for Villager
Hilda for Zelda

I’ve come up with a new mode that should be implemented to Smash. This is a mode that Smash has screwed with in the past one with Smash Tour, and I’ll call it Line Matches. So basically at the start of each match you choose how many “stocks” you’ll have. And instead of the stocks being lives, they’re individual characters.
So here would be the rules. Let’s say you set it to 5 lives: your 5 lives would each be tied to a different character. You can only choose each character once. So each time your character is killed, a different one takes its place until all 5 are killed. This also encourages assholes who only play as one character to diversify. This mode can have tops of 10 lives and doesn’t go further. Its 4 players tops since it gets far too confusing in 8 Player Smash. This seems like a no-brainer mode with Smash that I’m shocked that they haven’t done before.

No it doesn't
Look, I like to play some characters, certainly not even half. I'm ok with . a quarter of them, but only really like playing usually 3-4 at most. And I'm referring to the modern 18+ character Smashes.
I like Sonic. I want to play as Sonic, but if I'm being competitive I'm sticking to Villager, Bayonetta, Diddy, or Toon Link.

Every character that has ever been in smash is in. So yes cloud and snake are included
