Sweet mother of God. Just a flat out joy to play. I can’t remember a game that made me genuinely happy like this one does. The gf went to bed around 9pm so I stayed up 6 hours playing ... Spent a lonnnggg time in the sand kingdom then went to the lake kingdom.. (side note) Top 3 must have games for your Switch? I only got Odyssey so I’m looking to get a few more. Definitely getting Zelda and Kart, any others I should try?

This has me excited. I am guessing I will be getting a Switch from either my mom or wife for Xmas this year. I think I'll start with Odyssey just because I assume that I can play it with less focus than Zelda. I play on getting both, though.

Odyessy is amazing. My number 1 Mario game for sure. I've haven't had this much fun playing a game in a while it's just delightful.

Zelda approaches the GOAT, just a masterpiece...

I'm so freaking hyped for Metroid now

i still can't beat the fricking "darker side of the moon" course. I think it's the end, but i can't get through the area with the floating platforms, expanding ring generator things, and the reappearing spiky ball dudes.

Force the spikey guys to come to you, don't ever hit them at an angle - aka: Do not ever hit the ring generator... ever, if you only worry about the spikey dudes it makes that whole thing a WHOLE lot easier. You are almost done, but you are also about to get to an area that had me a little more frustrated than even the current area you are in.

Finally got a Switch for Christmas and popped this in first................ .

Incredible.

I love how we are back to Mario 64 level exploration.

This is fantastic.

Nintendo does it again.

How many here have gotten every moon?

all joking aside, the realism in this game, for a cartoon-style game, is incredible

This is the first new non-sports game I've gotten in over a decade. It is so much fun to play and explore. I had to force myself to go to bed last night. I just wanted to scale every building in New Donk City to see what I could find.

I finished Odyssey last night. It was a little disappointing for me. Not a bad game at all but just kind of about what you would expect and nothing much more than that.

It kind of fell into a routine of feeling like you're doing the same tasks repeatedly. You enter a new kingdom then just kind of run around doing random things until you stumble upon enough moons to fly to the next kingdom then rinse repeat. I was hoping for more platforming segments than what we got as well.

I think I preferred 3D World to this.

When you say you "finished" it, what do you mean exactly?

I got through the main game. I haven't messed around with post-game content yet.

Saw credits. I'm in the same boat as you. I hear you have to get 500 moons to unlock something and I was sitting at 189 when I finished. Had no desire to go hunting down some more. Was done.

Gotcha.

There are some challenging platforming levels after the main story is finished.

A) I think I'm just not into platforming anymore.

B) It was the same formula over and over. Devil Rabbits have taken something for the wedding, beat them, find enough moons to power the Odyssey, move along.

New Donk City was great, though.

i was responding to the guy who said he was hoping for more.

i agree on the usage of the same formula.

1) find the location shown by the mysterious artwork
2) capture the small rabbit
3) pound all the hills
4) look for the taxi in the sky

etc etc etc for every world

Well now I regret getting Kart instead of this yesterday. I just wanted to get a game the kids would like.

Dude, do you know how many games you’ve missed in 3,650 days?

I was never a huge non-sports gamer to begin with. I had Mario 64 and Ocarina of Time. Then I got a PS2 and Xbox360. I played mostly Madden, NCAA, FIFA, and the occasional FPS. Seeing things about Odyssey and BOTW got my nostalgia going. So, I got a Switch for Xmas. I'm sure I've missed out on plenty of amazing games.
