I platinumed Salt and Sanctuary on Vita and PS4. I completely fell in love with it. Haven't loved what I've seen from Salt and Sacrifice but I'll probably get into it at some point.

Like I mentioned before, Sacrifice is basically Monster Hunter. If you like the world, that’s one thing. If you’re looking to replicate the gameplay… very different.

looks hard as frick.

tempting, but damn.

The Messenger is not that bad IMO. It's fun and the soundtrack is awesome.

Carson mentioned "FIST: Forged In Shadow Torch" which totally took me by surprise. I think it must have been free with gamepass because I would have never known to play it. Solid but you should play some of the other suggestions before that.

Well that's very disappointing I was really excited when I heard there was a second game but that excitement did start to decrease when I actually saw the game.

Have you played the Ori games? Both really good.

Animal Well is also a masterpiece. There's really no combat though, it's very puzzle based Metroidvania.

just started playing dead cells myself and am enjoying it

ori games are great and definitely recommend. i personally didnt think they were allt hat hard but some did.

salt and sanctuary got a ton of love when it came out. no personal experience myself.

also no experience with it yet, but the new prince of persia metroidvania got a ton of good reviews. "the lost crown"

lot of great recs, thanks all.

I did begin child of light and while its surely good, not really what i'm looking for at the moment. I do like turn based combat and all that, just looking for more action after playing Blasephmous. The rush of stringing together parries is intense.

i see Skelethrone: The Chronicles of Ericona on steam for $15. Its less than a month old and looks tempting.

FIST is on sale but i dont really like the aesthetic. More of a dark gothic type of fan at the moment.

I want to do another playthrough lol. One of those games that just keeps getting better as you progress. End areas and bosses are so amazing

Bloodstained is for sale for $10 on steam for anyone else interested.

Really enjoying salt and sanctuary. Tons of weapons and build variety. I’m using a 2h great sword currently. With a sword and shield on 2nd load out when needed

I used the giant scissors on my first playthrough. Think it was called Jaws of Death. Super fun

What area are you in now?

Just beat the mad alchemist in the Woods. Still early.

Lvl 20. I like the leveling system and tree. Confusing at first but pretty awesome overall

I do not understand this game. I've tried starting it twice.

Granted, Hollow Knight started out for me, too. I had to force myself to sit down and play through the first boss until I "got" the game. It was smooth sailing after that.

You are pretty weak early. Need some upgraded weapons and levels before it becomes a lot of fun.

Dodge through everything big and watch out for traps

This is 2D dark souls for sure.

Took way too many tries on disembowled husk. Fire resist
