I don't understand the people in this thread saying this sale has sucked.

Maybe they've all grabbed deals better than this prior to the sale or have very different tastes in games than me, but I've bought a decent amount of stuff this Steam sale.

Once the sale has finished, I'm curious to see what everyone picked up.

Super Meat Boy @ $3.75 is a must buy for anyone that doesn't have it. Fun as shite, and one of the most challenging games I've ever played.

I think that is true, this is probably my 3rd or 4th summer sale and I've grabbed a ton of games over that time period. Me buying things previously does not equate to this sale sucking.

This is it mostly, once you have been through 3-4 sales it's mostly new releases you are looking for that you didn't already buy. Also GMG and Amazon have stepped up their game a lot.

This is how it starts. At first everyone is like steam is awesome. Then comes its cool but other stuff is good too. Down the road people will be like ''man, frick steam!"

I agree. I'm actually tempted to pick it up again even though I've played it to death on 360.

Not for me, I knew going in there wasn't much I would be looking for.

I bought it on sale before the Steam sale for 4 or 5 bucks because I've seen loads of people rave about it.

I'm not that far into it (maybe 2 hours) but I'm not blown away by it or anything. It's kind of fun, but I get the impression most people like it because of it's unique setting - a boarding school.

Surprisingly, there aren't a ton of games that recreate what it's like to go through high school and your teen years.

I plan to return to it once I play through some of the other stuff I picked up in this sale.

Just bought System Shock 2. I've heard good things about it.

I loved it, but I played it back when it originally released. If you've played Bioshock, you'll definitely see it's influence.

I think there is a higher-res texture pack and improved model pack you can download to help a little with its age.

2 things I specifically remember about it:
1. Amazing, atmospheric sound design (play it with headphones and the lights out).
2. Really bad, cheesy ending.

ETA: Let me clarify that the journey is worth it, despite the ending. I remember playing through it twice back in the day.

LOL from the threads people are not getting cards for purchases and not getting updates for things they do for badges. Steam has shite the bed.

The excuse given by Valve is that the server got behind and you will get your reward in a few hours. Yet you can still buy games instantly.
