Started Metro 2033 earlier (now contains spoilers)

Any tips? Anything I need to know early or just shoot and kill?

This is my first survival horror game, not sure if I like it yet. The closest thing I have had to this was crysis 1 when it turns from Asians to aliens

Kick back and enjoy the ride. I can't really give advice without spoiling but you're gonna have to rely on FPS skills cause shite gets real.

Pistol is beast
Don't burn thru ar ammo
purchase the automatic shotgun
Try to stay stealthy
Enjoy the very amazing underground world they created
Turn the lights off and the game sounds up

Not sure if I am feeling the whole mutant monster feel yet but the rest is pretty cool so far

just finished beating the game.
all i can say:
spectacular game. if you have'nt played it , play it.
i went in with no expectations and was pleasantly surprised.

You get 10% off of Last Light if you pre-order it on Steam and own Metro 2033 FYI. Glad you enjoyed the game. It deserves way more acclaim that it received.

I missed out on a lot of great games due to playing call of duty.

It's a quality game, but the developers didn't do themselves any favors at launch. I experienced several game breaking bugs at launch.

Hope they get that shite figured out for last light.
This is why people like me (software quality assurance analysts) are important....cant have gamebreaking shite make it to production
Tempted to replay again for the other ending but ehhh I dunno. prob will just YouTube it. I did screenshot the last scene for glory

Yeah, it requires minimal differences in gameplay to get the ending, but it gives a pretty radically different ending. Looks like the ending you got is canon anyways.

I found a list of things I'd need to do different.
But the alternate ending doesn't carry over to last light or coincide with the books so fuq it.

So I see that, according to the book, Aytoum realizes after he launches the missiles that the dark ones were trying to communicate with him? But it was too late?
The ending honestly didn't explain much...tempted to read the books because I really enjoyed the story.
As a game... Awesome. But I felt the ending could of been more?
And the alternate ending of saving the Dark ones...ehh... I see the final achievement of "if it's hostile, kill it" but I keep considering if they were really hostile? I'm the one trying to nuke em and all.

Yeah, I mean they didn't exactly present themselves as benevolent or kind. shite, you have to run away from them in that final sequence - going towards them ends the game. It would be a massive leap of faith to not pull the trigger with the nuke.
