Over 1,000 different worlds to explore (meaning that at the very least it's going to be faaaaaaaaaaaaar larger than Skyrim), ship-to-ship battles in space, fricktons of missions and things to discover, lots of different abilities, etc.

I am interested in terms of how active "space" will be. I know there is space combat, but will you see other ships flying around doing their thing? Can you communicate with said ships?

Yes, there are space pirates and you can be a space pirate too. You can also just trade with ships, blow them up because you are feeling dickish, etc.

The 13GB PC update last night took the game from V1.6 to V1.7.
Still no word on any notes for what was in it. Guessing it's the launch day update.

That’s the main reason I bought mine. I got it early last year when we knew very little about the game (compared to now). But I’m a huge Fallout fan and I figured, even if the game is just “Fallout in space” then I’ll be thrilled. But the more and more I hear about the game the better and better I feel about buying an Xbox. Can’t wait for the reviews to start popping up in a couple days. I’ve never been so excited to hear how someone else likes a game lol

I wish I wasn't such a cheap arse. I have gamepass on my series x. Is there anything else I get by ordering the early access? Do I have to pay full price?

I bought the normal edition because I'll be out of town for Labor Day. Just do what I'm doing and treat this early release as a bunch of people reviewing the game for you. That way you can set your expectations appropriately.
The other option was me lugging my gaming PC to a beach house and I'm not sure the wife or family would appreciate that....

If you have Gamepass, you can buy the Premium Edition for $30 to get early access.
Normally I wouldn't have, but I wanted to play it over the long weekend. Granted, that is exactly why Bethesda planned the release the way they did.
Wouldn't have done that if I had to pay 70 for the base game and then another 30

I'm the opposite, I leave for a beach trip on the 6th, and half a night of playing the game then leaving wasn't going to cut it. So Starting tomorrow night, catch me not doing anything else till Wednesday.

Rebooted Steam, got the pre-load as well as pulled down the big, new patch for BG3.
