Kinda Funny Games Interview with Todd Howard
Main takeaways:
1. No ground vehicles/animal mount (Howard says jet packs move fast enough for this not to be an issue)
2. FOUR main romanceable companions - the Constellation Crew.
3. No fishing (in the traditional sense of having a fishing rod, but says they eventually put it in Skryim so never say never)
4. 10% of planets have life on them ( watch the interview before freaking out over this, explains it really well)
5. There's a radio station local to one location.
6. You can customize stolen ships but they have to be registered first.
7. The Outpost and Ship building systems are very deep and complex. They are intended for later in the game.
8. Surveying planets and systems earns money.
Also further explains the 30fps on consoles decision, which Digital Foundry did a great job of breaking down WHY it was the right decision.

Gravy. Assuming you're done reserving spots.

I have no clue. I was going to keep going but had to go to the bathroom
I like keep all of this stuff separated to make it easier to understand but no clue how much info I'm going to find.

A total of 4 posts should be more than enough.
This looks like an Nvidia-sponsored game. DLSS FTW.
Edit: one too many s.

4K 30FPS on Series X and 1440 30FPS on the Series S.
Not really surprised, but still disappointed. Also worried that it won't be a steady 30FPS.

That's consoles for ya. Although, the GPU requirements are high on PC as well.
I figured a 1060/70 minimum. These fools went for a 1070ti.

It's a ridiculous purchase, but I'm buying the Constellation edition.
I'll justify such a ridiculous purchase because I'm gonna be playing this game for like 10 years

We're all thirsty for a Tod Howard game.

Assuming early reviews aren’t a disaster, I won’t be able to help myself on this one.

The combat and gunplay looks much improved from the footage we've seen previously. The only thing that looked a little wonky in this vid was the hipfiring while in mid air, though that can be an in-universe auto aim deal for all we know. Love the big cities and weapon customization. I think those huge, dense, hand-crafted areas are where the game will really shine. Anxious to see what the skills look like.
Wish we could've seen a tad more story details and some quest stuff though. The procedurally generated shite, resource farming, ship stuff, and outpost building couldn't interest me less, so I would've liked to see some story driven mission stuff to see how it looks on that front.
Voice acting was shoddy in a few places and performance was suspect in a few of the combat encounters, but that could improve in the coming months. 30fps for consoles is sad
Overall, they did a good job with the presentation and I'm definitely looking more forward to it than I was before.

Yeah, and then Phil says this:

Phil Spencer says he doesn't feel an imperative to release an Xbox with a major upgrade in mid-cycle
“That’s not the feedback we’re getting right now. Right now, we’re pretty set on the hardware we have.”
Bloomberg Article
It just comes off as tone-deaf to me after the Redfall release and now this news about Starfield.

This and Diablo are making me wish I had taken advantage of that Verizon deal to get an Xbox S for $150.
I'm still rocking the original Xbox One since I don't even play games anymore really after having kids but these 2 games are giving me an itch.

Game play trailer has me worried. Very little combat shown is always a bad sign imo

This is a Bethesda game so I fully expect it to be an unoptimized mess upon launch. That's the one thing holding me back from buying a new PC for this game. Recommended specs won't be enough to run this game at a consistent 60 FPS

Modding had cyberpunk 2077 fixed at least a year before developers fixed it.
So yeah, like you I want to play this but for the PC route I'll probably wait a bit for the modders to put in bug fixes and quality of life mods.
