I agree the Total War thing is certainly not the hill for these people to die on.
But I don’t blame people for getting butthurt by it. These company and studio heads have proven that if you give them an inch, they take a foot in terms of virtue signaling for a super small percentage of their actual audience.

Ohhh so this isn’t something that people can’t be upset about...as the left continues to cry about everything under the sun like a child who’s mother says no you can’t have a toy today.
It’s fricking sickening to turn on the TV these days or log into the internet. Now it is making its way into games....the last haven for people like myself who just want to escape it all.
Ohh let’s make Ciri black. Okay fine, let us make the black pathed white....oh wait....that is unacceptable? Why is it your can force your views on others but when the others fire back you kick and scream. These people are the problem and the future of this country is scary.

I blame the internet and social media. It really is sad that I can’t say hey...I disagree with ciri being any race but white (like she was in the game) and then immediately being judged and being called a racist and then having hundreds of people jump on me via Facebook and Twitter........calling for my job. These people have a sickness. Basic human compassion and understanding is a thing of the past.

Outrage culture mixed with politics is gross, and sometimes it feels almost impossible to escape. It's exhausting.
Look at this board and the MSB. Most of the longest threads are politics related. This thread which is a day old is already longer than the Spiderman thread which is almost three weeks old.

I agree. There's history with that character, so of course people are going to voice displeasure. But here's the problem with social media: it's the ultra loud vileness that gets heard, people that probably did go on racists tirades about the decision, and that paints everyone on that side of the argument to some, or a lot, of people. It's really an ugly time.
You can't voice any displeasure with our president without automatically being called a cuck soy boy because there are effiminate "woke" guys out there wearing vagina hats crying in the streets that doing the same thing, so to speak, so now all of the sudden you're one of them.

To add to my point, the back and forth with scruffy has been good IMO. We don't agree on a lot, but we can actually talk about it.

^^^ I think this mindset is a result of the left. It is the type of displeasure with the president that spawned the anti soy boy. I hardly ever see any one criticize policies...they just criticize the man himself and personally attack him.

I wish every conversation on shite like this could be as tame and well thought out as the comments in this thread.
Sicboy has different opinions than I do on some things, but I honestly enjoy hearing different points of view. It sucks you can’t converse on topics like this anymore without someone getting super triggered.

Well, whoever's fault it is, it sucks. I think because of this I've gotten into the habit of blocking out ALL the noise, so when issues like this with Total War come up, I'm legit "what...........why are we mad about this again?"
So anyways, here's to BFV hopefully being a good game. COD BR mode didn't overly impress me, so if I'm going a new shooter, I'll stick to my franchise. Co-op sounds intriguing, but I won't kid myself and say I'll actually be ablo to play with people.

There were some people from the PT who made their way to the MSB and was trying to encourage the non Trump posters to go to the PT more.

When the Ciri stuff got announced, since I don't know anything about that lore or the history of that character, I asked what defined Ciri as a character and I believe I got an actual informed response. More of that is needed. Don't be on the defensive so quickly.

Lots of people that are slacktivists on social media don't actually care about the issues they rant about. They're propping themselves up among their peers to appear better than they are.

Believe it or not I've had some really good discussions on the poliboard. You just have to hang around long enough to know who the good posters are, and which ones are just "fly in, shite on a thread, fly out" types. There are certain posters I just don't bother engaging with on a serious level because I know their only response is going to be "Trumpkin, cuck, snowflake, SJW, etc."
Ya, there's a ton of shitposting going on...but you'll also find good discussions.
