Every single person I know that plays D&D is a hardcore liberal. Which makes this even funnier to me because I'm extremely conservative and I've never assigned a racial designation to any fantasy race in any RPG I've played or fantasy books I've ever read.

Not DnD but similar to that Pathfinder just came out and said they were completely removing slavery from the universe because of a few outspoken SJW critics.

This is ridiculous. One of my favorite DnD memories was luring slavers into a warehouse where a sun cleric, a wizard, and a bard all unleashed fireballs. We freed their slaves and took the slavers' ship as our own.

I don't know many people who actually use Pathfinder's world; just the system.
That said, I don't get the big deal. If a DM wants to incorporate slavery, they will; if they don't, they won't.
D&D/Pathfinder is a very ODD place to find this battle, considering the vast majority of games are with homebrew worlds, or with partial pre-made content and partial homebrew content. Goodness knows how many games I've played in where DMs threw their own stuff in that wasn't "canon" the core worlds of D&D/Pathfinder.
As for slavery... I mean, how much easier does it get to make a villain (or evil/corrupt kingdom) than for them to have slaves? Only time I can see it being problematic is when a player wants to own their own slaves and do weird shite with them - but in all honesty, if you have a player like that and you haven't kicked them to the curb by session 3 that's your problem.
