That table isn't accurate. Nowhere on that list is "politician", "aspiring actress" or "social media influencer".

Now that I think about it, this is probably correct - we likely retconned the term "Basic" to differentiate between "D&D" (Original) and AD&D (which is commonly referred to as "First Edition" now), when those constituted the binary choice.

It's funny, because DND nerds are as inclusive as it gets. They don't give a shite who plays, as long as they can get enough to have a party and a DM.

No, the basic set came out in 1977 as a simplified rule set. So that people who wanted to play casual could... 5th edition accomplished what basic tried - to get the game more and more mainstream.

That grants you a -15 modifier to all history, perception, nature, investigation and intimidation checks as well as causes you to fail all wisdom and intelligence saving throws.

I think i still have my dungeon masters guide(thick hard cover book, and Monster manual from 1980
I only played 1 time, but bought it, loved the mythology/ creatures in the game.
