Should I play Elden Ring on Xbox or ps5? (both current gen)

Got the itch to play a FROM game soon, have both consoles, trying to figure out which one to play it on
ETA: After doing a little research I'm leaning towards the ps5 simply because of performance, looks like xbox and ps5 are extremely similar but the ps5 is just slightly better. (PC is unfortunately not an option for me right now, I don't have the funds to build a gaming PC at this time)

i cant compare to xbox but i played on ps5 and though it performed excellent and looked great on that platform

I played it on PS5 and it played and looked amazing. I’d put it up there with Bloodborne as one of the best FromSoft ever made.

I started a from scratch play through a week or so ago and have been having a blast again. Took a number of months off after hitting platinum with my strength build and decided to go in a completely different direction. Feels like a completely new game while also benefitting from knowing where I need to go for progression and to find important items/weapons.

How interested are you in co-op and PVP? If you like that stuff, PlayStation has a much larger playerbase than Xbox for FromSoft games.

I played and beat this game right when it came out. Think I tried to do as much as possible so it took probably 140 hours. That being said, I would have no idea where to even begin if I started from scratch. Game was amazing.

I tend to play offline with FROM games just because I hate being invaded, these are already hard enough games without having to constantly worry about real life humans destroying my progress. I also like to say I beat things without help... so no co-op for me.
I'm more than likely getting on ps5 though, just seems the obvious choice at this point.

ive got a series S and lost about 40 hrs of my first playthrough d/t a crash (happened during a boss cutscene, after deafting the boss).
after i grieved an appropriate amount of time and started playing again, i lost 5 hrs and another 2 hrs because there was a glitch when loading my save from the main menu. all this was within the first 2 months of release, and ive completed a new playthrough last month and never experienced any issues.
dunno if it was a series S issue, or a from release state issue, but i def had a clenched bhole everytime i booted the game up. ive never had issues like that before with any game from PS2-PS4. only got the S for elden ring launch cause i couldnt find a ps5 in time.

Well the S doesn't compare to the ps5, if you don't have an X it's a no brainer.

I don’t think you can even be invaded in Elden ring unless you want it to happen

Idk bruh I wouldn’t recommend it
It’s not that it’s hard you just like go to the place and kill giants for a couple hours when you get stuck but you get to this point where you’re killing giants more than playing and you’re not really sure where to go next
