Anyone play this? It's been on my radar and is on sale for ~$40 on Steam. I enjoyed Bioshock Infinite quite a bit but never really got into Fallout 4 or GTA if that helps. Thanks.

Hackers galore on PC version. Some are just nuisance, others intent is to get people banned.

They'll spawn in treasures and piles of animals to skin. People see the loot and jump for joy, till they get reported for for illegally gotten wealth and get all their character reset to scratch if not banned.

I didnt care for the online portion but the story is great. I wouldn’t hesitate to spend $40, personally .

Controls and feel are similar to GTA so if that wasn’t your thing, be aware

If you didn't get into GTA...I don't know if you'd like this. It is quite similar just not many cars in the 1890s. Was nice to see New Orleans done in a Rockstar game tho.

Story is great, but gameplay-wise, it’s GTA on horses, so beware if your issues with GTA were with the game engine.

It’s tedious to get into, but once you get into late Chapter 2 and into Chapter 3, it gets really good.

Thanks for all of the responses. My problems with GTA weren't really the game engine. I just couldn't/didn't get into it but may have been distracted by other games at the time. If the story is good then I'll probably enjoy it.

Isn't the whole bath thing a proxy for that? To keep it PG-13, so to speak?

I viciously murdered 200+ people in a row, shot peoples heads completely off, burned them alive and bombed them into pieces

Fair enough, but America has always been like that. You can depict an action hero/military protagonist slaughtering thousands (for a good cause, of course) as long as there aren't buckets of blood or too much close up of the damage. However, if he gets laid afterwards, it better be implied.

I preferred the first one since II seemed to drag on toward the end.

Great graphics and story though.

Definitely worth it for the story alone.

I'm in the middle of myself second play through.

I don't think the end dragged more than the beginning. There should be an option to skip the snow section after you have beaten the game once.
