Then, I got the single greatest sense of satisfaction I've ever gotten from a game as I dropped into Deadeye and unloaded both revolvers into Micah's face.
I only took a single, precise shot between his eyes, but dropping Micah was so fricking satisfying, I wished I could replay that sequence over and over. What an ending!

It seems like they could have cut out everything that happened near Rhodes with the Hatfields and McCoys and the story wouldn't have suffered.
Wow, completely disagree. That location had some of the best parts of the story. The raid on Braithwaite Manor was an iconic scene.

yeah that was amazing

yeah, the first ride into Mexico in RDR1 was better
i actually thought John's ride to Cruel Cruel World, after putting on his iconic outfit, was the the best "ride" of the game. So fricking good

Just finished hunting down all of the legendary animals, except for the panther. That was enjoyable.

sucks that John didn't take Arthur's advice about not looking back. he goes to get revenge for arthur instead and it ends up leading the pinkertons back to him which is what gets him killed eventually in RDR
i definitely liked Arthur more as a protagonist than John tho

That mission should be available for replay, shouldn't it?

Easily the coolest mission of the game. Just felt so badass with everyone lined up like that all pissed off

I actually felt like the game should have started with the blackwater heist. My only problem with it. First chapter should have been blackwater

If they decide to do a red dead 3, continuing to follow the van der lindes, I could see blackwater being the ending sequence.
Possibly play as the guy who dies immediately at the start of 2 and transferring control to Arthur, since rockstar has a habit of killing off protagonists at this point.
I’m guessing that they wanted to set up a Tarantino reservoir dogs style narrative initially. Jumping in during the chaos of the aftermath of a failed heist.

started a playthrough of red dead 1 tonight
i found my copy lying around and dont remember why i never finished the first one. i remember getting to Mexico but its been so long i figured i'd plug up the ps3 and give it a go. i dont remember hardly anything thats going on in the story so far.
the game holds up surprisingly well but i'm having trouble doing anything evil like i normally do on my first playthroughs of these types of games after seeing that Marston truly was trying to get out of it all before the Pinkertons drug him back in
its on ps now as well but the lag made some races kinda tough and its lower resolution.

I have it on PS3, going to break it out after I finish the legendary animal and fish

This is disappointing. I was going to try it on PS now but my Internet isn't near yours.

I'll probably do this. My ps3 quit reading discs or I'd go that route. I really want to replay it knowing how RDR2 played out.

For a while before I finished the story, my plan was to immediately do a second playthrough and stay in the good times, but I'm finding myself sticking with John so I can have the entire world open for exploring.
Though, New Austin isn't as lively so I'll probably go back to an earlier save once I'm done seeing Tumbleweed crumble.

I’m hoping they do a DLC that is more new Austin-centric. I’ll be pretty pissed if they give RDR2 the GTAV treatment and only focus on multiplayer. This game is way too story driven to not do a dlc
